Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for an extremely driven Business Development Manager who will be excited to become our number one employee in Japan and drive sales in this location with support of our highly experienced global team. The person successful in this role is a very motivated and proactive individual with proven experience of IT Solution Sales in Japan. 

If the current situation allows, you will work in the first six months of your employment from the headquarter in London, where you will attend a comprehensive training and development programme. You will be involved in all aspects of our sales process from lead generation through to contracting and implementation of the product. You will be targeting senior IT executives within large enterprises. When the training is completed, you will move to Tokyo, Japan which will be your permanent work location. 

Responsibilities of the role include the below areas. All necessary training and support to onboard your understanding of the product will be provided. 

Inside sales

  • Identifying prospective customers and design multi touch campaigns
  • Enable data driven decision making through actively using our Sales CRM
  • Full end to end ownership of deals including preparing presentations and contracts
  • Booking of new meetings to grow the sales pipeline
  • Networking, outreach, and other activities to generate new business
  • Owning regional sales reports and execute strategies to hit revenue targets

Field sales

  • Driving client sales meetings
  • Applying solution selling techniques and other methods of closing deals
  • Lead technical discussions and client Q&A without need of support
  • Deep Relationship building with C-level executives in major local champions
  • Maintaining personal sales pipeline

Management

  • Building and management of a local sales team
  • Assisting EMEA Head of Sales in reporting sales activity and revenue targets
  • Interviewing and on-boarding of new hires to the sales team with support of our in house talent acquisition team

Qualifications

Essential:

  • 3+ years’ experience of solution based IT sales
  • Japanese native level
  • English language business fluency
  • Knowledgeable of Software Development terminology and practices
  • Strong track record of achieving targets in delivering sales
  • Outstanding solution selling and communication skills
  • Experience of managing budget and individuals or teams 

Desired:

  • Experience of working in an SME or Start-up environment

Interview Process

Our recruitment process comprises of four stages to practically test candidates’ abilities: 

  1. Send us your CV - should you be shortlisted, a member of our Talent Acquisition team will be in contact with you to arrange an initial chat.
  2. Should your skill set and attitude match the requirements of the role, we will arrange a second interview with the Hiring Manager of the role.
  3. The next step involves a work sample, which we allow you a maximum of 7 days to complete.
  4. Providing the work sample is to a good standard, we will invite you for the final interview, where you will meet one of our board members, who is based in Tokyo.

Remuneration 

Base Salary: £70K - £74K (9.5 - 10 Million YEN)

OTE: up to £130K (up to 18 Million YEN)
