Job Description

Job Summary

The Product Manager role is a critical role that drives the growth and success of Blu Banyan.  Product Manager will be responsible for developing, managing and optimizing one or more large, complex, and/or high revenue Product lines of strategic importance to the organization. The role includes but is not limited to contributing to and managing the product roadmap, overseeing the implementation and working in an agile environment with a cross-functional team to develop products that meet the needs of our consumers and clients. Recognized as an expert within the company and requires in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in the industry and Product Management along with other job disciplines within the organization in order to successfully manage the product. 

 

Primary Duties

Strategy/Discovery/Planning - 50%                                                                                                             

  • Formulate an in-depth understanding of problems by customer segment and personas and competitive landscape.
  • Partner with cross functional teams and business stakeholders to observe and solicit feedback from consumers and clients.
  • Create and maintain product vision and roadmap
  • Develop go-to-market strategy and value proposition. Illustrate market problems in a way that puts the problem in context.
  • Provide relevant, timely and easily consumable updates to all internal and external audiences.
  • Create Epics and Features and ensures it aligns across products; manage feature creation, identify business rules and business impact; involve Product Delivery Managers to ensure delivery team is aligned to features and feature acceptance criteria; participate in planning and pre/post-planning events (Demos and Inspect/Adapt).

Development/Evaluation - 30%

  • Build an effective relationship and team between Product Management & Product Engineering
  • Collaborate with Product Delivery Managers, and other cross functional teams to execute work including prototyping and testing to validate solutions
  • Make buy/build/partner recommendations
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, etc. to develop recommendations, support testing, partner with growth and business stakeholders to develop pricing strategies and assess ROI.
  • Assess product performance against KPIs and make corrections to improve performance
  • Create and deliver thoughtful information to influence key market constituents
  • Make end-of-life recommendations for non-performant products.

 

Sales - 20%:

  • Partner with growth team and product readiness teams to articulate the strategies and programs that will generate awareness and leads for the upcoming period - including measurements and goals.            

Qualifications

Education, experience and Qualifications

  • Requires and applies comprehensive knowledge of business, product maturity and performance, and industry principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of an organization internally and externally.
  • Team player who brings a sense of positive energy and the ability to influence, inspire and motivate cross-functional partners across the organization.
  • Working knowledge of the Solar Industry leads to PTO.
  • Working knowledge for Agile Methodology is a plus.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          
  • Working experience in design, development and implementation of product plans is a plus.
  • Working experience in full product lifecycle methodologies is a plus.
  • Working experience in conducting competitive research and analysis is a plus.
  • Working experience in identifying KPI's and other analytics to measure product value is a plus.
