Why join us?

BlaBlaCar has launched a new long-distance bus business line that is set to fuel tremendous growth for the company. It is a marketplace for bus operators to sell their seats to passengers across Russia. 

We need the right person to contribute to sales of bus tickets online in Russia. 

 What you will directly contribute to:

  • Leading the Distribution (sales) department (team of 18 people in 2 Russian regions), overseeing activities of the junior and senior professionals and monitoring performance as a whole;

  • Defining and communicating the business’s KPIs and targets to junior sales personnel on a regular basis;

  • Analyzing patterns in passenger and bus market behavior, and subsequently defining data-driven action strategies in order to consistently optimize the business’s commercial performance;

  • It is a data-driven role that requires commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the consumer base (bus passengers), the competitive bus market, and an ability to analyze Distribution (sales) department performance;

  • Being Involved in the management of external partners (bus stations and carriers) and collaborations with numerous internal departments;

  • Being in charge of developing weekly/monthly/annual and seasonal sales targets for the department, examining growth opportunities, enabling sales improvements, product mix development, and taking responsibility for the department’s performance against targets;

  • Delivering an optimized market mix relative to the core target passengers and identifying the roadmap that will lead to achievement of the department’s goals as well as the overall goals of the business;

  • Utilizing analytics tools and works with the analytics team in undertaking detailed analyses of sales performance for the purpose of reporting sales strategy successes, weaknesses, and opportunities to ExCo and SteerCo committees (company’s management);

  • Playing an important role as ambassador for BlaBlaCar brand both for internal (regional team) and external (B2B partners - carriers and bus stations).

Qualifications

What you will need to be successful:

  • Experience as a Head of Sales (Team lead) with proven sales background 

  • Understanding the sales processes, sales pitches, sales activities

  • Proven sales skills, excellent communicator and organizer

  • Proven experience in leading projects in digital companies/businesses

  • Excellent negotiations skills

  • Result oriented person (proven results from previous jobs)

  • Understanding OKR and KPI based businesses

  • Analytical skills, the ability to look at the problem from different sides, the desire to "get to the bottom" of it, the ability to offer various solutions.

  • Competent oral and written speech, ability to formulate thoughts clearly and concisely.

  • Fluent in English and in Russian

  • Excellent knowledge of Excel (advanced user)
