You manage the expansion and ongoing operation of BlaBlaCar’s Russian infrastructure. As a member of BlaBlaCar’s cross-functional Foundations Team (Core Infra), you will maintain production reliability, performance, and observability while supporting automation used by all development teams to deploy their services. 

What you will directly contribute to

• Ensure alignment between the French and the Russian platforms. We will rely on you to communicate and collaborate with the Paris based engineering teams.

• Deliver an expanded infrastructure. Select and manage vendors (e.g data center) as well as contractors to modernize BlaBlaCar’s Russian based infrastructure.

• Be the local technical expert to help us maintain regulatory compliance and security.

• Succeeding in this mission might require you to recruit engineers (full-time or contract) in our Moscow office, evaluate contractors, and orchestrate them for maximum output.

• Solid proven experience as a software or system engineer

• Experience working with external vendors, budgeting, and contract negotiation

• Experience with large scale production systems and web technologies

• Hands-on, detail-oriented, pragmatic and collaborative attitude

• Comfortable with change and uncertainty in a high-velocity environment

• Fluent in English and Russian

• Experience with Kubernetes deployments would be a strong plus
