Job Description

About This Role:
Are you ready to become a pivotal part of a dynamic finance team within a leading biotech company?

We are seeking a Finance Manager for a six-month temporary contract to join our Affiliate team in the Netherlands. In this exiting role, you'll gain direct exposure to the Leadership Team in an international environment. As the right-hand to the Finance Director, your contributions will be essential in managing the local finance and administration, becoming the organizational backbone. Your mission will include driving financial planning & analysis, enhancing cost controlling, and ensuring compliance with both corporate and local standards. With broad responsibilities across various business levels, you'll play a key role in steering our financial strategy and operations. Positioned within a mid-size business that retains its autonomy within our larger international framework, you'll experience the best of both worlds—close-knit team dynamics alongside robust, standardized processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in elevating our financial practices as we continue to grow and thrive.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate closely with the Finance Director on financial planning & analysis, including the development of budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans.
  • Prepare and review templates and slide decks for business reviews and internal management reporting.
  • Manage local affiliate’s financial responsibilities including fees, services, workforce expenses, and infrastructure expenses.
  • Oversee HR administration and accounting processes.
  • Enhance cost control measures across the affiliate, particularly within commercial and medical teams.
  • Serve as a backup for patient planning models and gain detailed business exposure.
  • Support local procurement processes to ensure efficient purchasing practices.
  • Co-manage sales and order planning processes.
  • Supervise General Accounting and ensure accuracy and compliance in the monthly and yearly closing processes.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal control environments in line with Biogen’s accounting practices.
  • Manage financial reporting, tax filing, and financial audits in collaboration with the Associate Director Finance.

Who You Are:
You are a finance professional with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in controlling and/or accounting. Adept in Oracle-Hyperion, you have a solid grasp of generally accepted accounting principles, with a preference for US-GAAP knowledge. As an advanced Excel user, you are fluent in both Dutch and English, bringing a hands-on mentality to your work. You are known for your accountability, agility, strong analytical skills, and problem-solving prowess. You thrive in a role that demands both strategic thinking and a meticulous attention to detail.
