About This Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Director to drive novel outcome development for our NMD portfolio in collaboration with cross-functional colleagues and external experts (clinicians, scientists, patient advocates, people living with NMD and caregivers, registries, government bodies, and global regulatory authorities).
There is an urgent need for objective and sensitive outcome measures (biomarkers, digital endpoints, clinical outcome measures) to facilitate development and/or optimization of therapies for neuromuscular diseases. Leveraging data collected across our NMD portfolio, and larger datasets across the field, the Neuromuscular Outcome Development Lead will support refinement of existing measures and identification of novel measures to support acceleration of development across our portfolio. This individual will also help establish innovative study designs across the portfolio and support relevant business development evaluations. They will have a critical role in bringing together key functions including Development (Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Biomarkers, Epidemiology), Medical Affairs, Value and Access, and Commercial to establish the outcome development strategy and prioritization of deliverables.
This role will report to the Head of the Neuromuscular Development Unit and will be remote.

Qualifications
Required Skills
- MD, PhD (life sciences), or PharmD
- Minimum of 3-5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience
- Relevant experience in the neuromuscular and/or rare disease field
- Experience engaging with regulators and/or payors and building and maintaining relationships with KMEs
- Ability to manage multiple projects and take initiative to solve complex & challenging problems
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with regional and/or affiliate medical to ensure regional activities are executed in alignment with global medical strategy and ensuring the insights and needs from them are known and properly addressed.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to include presentations
Additional Information
The base compensation range for this role is $215,000 - $300,000. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job related years of relevant experience, internal equity, and location of the job. Additionally, this role is eligible for participation in Biogen’s LTI grants and other incentive programs.
