About This Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Scientist to support our neuromuscular portfolio. The initial focus of the role will be pediatric development for our Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA) therapy, but this individual will also have the opportunity to support ongoing life-cycle-management in FA, early research efforts in FA, and broader efforts across the NMD portfolio.  

This role will report to the FA Therapeutic Area Lead and will be remote.

 What You’ll Do

  • Under the guidance of the Clinical Development Lead, contribute to design and execution of clinical studies, including core document authoring (protocols, clinical study reports, training documents, ICFs, etc.), protocol deviation reviews, data quality review, and other study related activities.
  • Support cross-functional Study Management and Development Asset Teams to ensure successful design and implementation of clinical development plans and achievement of study quality metrics
  • Contribute to the preparation and execution of investigator and advisory board meetings in collaboration with project teams and stakeholders
  • Cultivate relationships with external partners such as clinical investigators, clinicians, and scientists
  • Assist with the due diligence process as it pertains to business development opportunities

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • PhD or PharmD
  • Minimum 2 years clinical research experience
  • Industry experience working on CNS clinical trials
  • Experience in analysis and interpretation of clinical data (safety and efficacy) and a working knowledge of biostatistics, GCP, and regulatory requirements for clinical studies
  • Experience interacting with Development Operations (Clinical Operations, Regulatory, QA) and clinical investigators
  • Ability to make independent, timely, and appropriate decisions
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-based matrix environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of organizational and project management skills

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is $165,000 - $230,000. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job related years of relevant experience, internal equity, and location of the job. Additionally, this role is eligible for participation in Biogen’s LTI grants and other incentive programs.
