Manager, Contract Operations - Iberia

Job Description

The role of the Contract Manager is an operational role whose primary function is being an advisor and business partner to the Iberia Cluster to better contract with external stakeholders, providing guidance to all functions on contract related matters.

It requires:

  • A strong legal contract knowledge.
  • A compliance driven mentality.

A proactive hands-on approach, capacity to work with autonomy, and “business partner” mentality.

CONTRACT MANAGEMENT

  1. Serve as primary contract manager of the Iberia Cluster (Spain and Portugal). Prepare, and review agreements (e.g. clinical trial, healthcare related agreements, commercial agreements, vendor and supplier agreements, CDA, etc.).
  2. Coordination with assistants and other Biogen affiliate and international teams in the contract management process.
  3. Cooperation in the contract/addendum/master template creation and implementation.
  4. Liaison with Legal Corporate function for the contract local needs analysis, contract template creation, modification and approval, master agreements included.
  5. Owner for contracts and addendums database, keeping them up to date.
  6. Communication with vendors and/or service providers as necessary to resolve contract issues.
  7. Acts as a first point of contact for inquiries on contracts for commercial functions within the affiliate and provide guidance on contract and addendum.
  8. Monitoring and follows up on framework agreements signed and their renewal/extension/close-out.
  9. Creation and delivers trainings to managers and all employees on contract management.
  10. Supports Corporate Administration activities including but not limited to:

Provides support on corporate administration activities (BoD, Shareholders meeting, Power of Attorney etc.) coordinating with legal Corporate function where appropriate.

  1. Clinical Trials: supports and provides guidance, within the Clinical Trials framework, on contractual and legal related activities/matters acting as a first point of contact for internal stakeholders.

LEGAL

Closely collaborate and support the Legal function on Iberia Cluster legal matters, contracts, and general corporate and pharmaceutical law in relation to commercialization of biopharmaceutical products, including sales, marketing, and distribution, as well as medical affairs activities.

COMPLIANCE

Closely collaborate and support the Compliance function on Iberia Cluster on compliance and governance risk pertaining to the commercialization of biopharmaceutical products, including sales, marketing, and distribution, as well as medical affairs activities.

FINANCE

Closely collaborate and support the Finance function in relation to procurement processes, vendors, and others related to the Iberia cluster activities (including primary owner for VRM)

DATA PRIVACY

Lead Data privacy activities in  the Iberia Cluster

Qualifications

  • Degree in Law.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish; preferred fluent in Portuguese. 
  • 6+ years of experience as an attorney (law firm or in house).
  • Strong experience in Contracts.
  • International experience a plus.
  • Experience/knowledge in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Life Science sector and/or regulated environments / compliance related to FCPA.
  • Organizational skills and management of different teams.
  • Results oriented, with a high level of autonomy.
