About This Role
Biogen is looking to hire a Sr. Logistics Specialist to oversee and manage daily Supply Chain activities for U.S. and Canadian markets. He or she is responsible for movements of Commercial Product through the Supply Chain. The Sr. Logistics Specialist acts as liaison with internal and external customers, vendors and stakeholders. This role works closely with the Commercial & Planning teams to ensure on time in full supply. The role manages FG shipments, replenishments to 3PLs and regional warehouses, shipping deviations and sales & inventory reporting for U.S. and Canadian markets. This is achieved through working closely with key stakeholders (e.g. Finished Goods Planning, Quality, External Manufacturing, Commercial, Finance, S&OP, Packaging Engineering).
This is a hybrid role to be based at our Headquarters in Cambridge, MA.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee and manage daily supply chain activities for U.S. and Canadian markets
- Identify and communicate any shipment or supply risks to management and support recommendations and implementation of corrective actions to minimize supply risks.
- Analyze cross functional and logistics processes and identifies/ implements solutions in order to improve the quality and efficiency of the supply chain
- Maintain high level of Customer Service, ensuring $Biliions in revenue recognition and supply compliance across the largest single market within the company
- Drive efficiency in working with Logistics Providers/Partners; whilst balancing cost effectiveness, quality of the services provided and customer expectations
- Work with Quality Assurance to promote and maintain GxP compliance throughout the logistics network within the scope of the Logistics Team. Exceptions handling – Investigate exceptions, determine root causes, implement CAPAs and drive closure.
Who You Are
You can deal with high levels of ambiguity and complexity, tight deadlines, anticipates potential risks, develops corresponding contingency plans, and is capable of acting proactively in order to support strategic and complex decisions. Influencing and negotiation skills are important for this role as interactions and buy-in from different stakeholders and decision makers are key. You should be able to represent Logistics as Subject Matter Expert for certain areas.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in business or supply chain related discipline with a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience, preferably in a logistics/supply chain role.
- Experience in a similar position in the biotech/life sciences/pharma industry.
- Experience within a Global Supply Chain and controlled environment
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills (excellent written and verbal communicator with the ability to articulate recommendations and key decision points to senior management)
- Demonstrated experience reducing complex subjects to key points. Ability to work in fast paced environments and great organizational skills to effectively balance a broad range of projects and tasks in parallel
- Exceptional team player (ability to direct and participate in cross functional and management teams)
- Experience with Supply Chain and Manufacturing planning tools, preferably: Oracle, Hyperion, Business Object, SAP, APO, JDE
- Project Management experience and ability to work in cross-functional teams
