Job Description
You are the key medical person acting as the main point of contact to external stakeholders (including but not limited to HCPs/Key Scientific Experts/patient advocacy groups/payers/etc.).
- To establish, develop and maintain medical scientific collaborative relationships with current and future therapeutic experts in spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and other orphan disease products in development
- To disseminate high quality complex scientific information and provide innovative medical education content
- To generate medical insights and provide research concepts to therapeutic experts to facilitate patient management and care
- To develop affiliate Key Medical Experts (KME) strategy and engagement plan
- To support maintenance of a locally-specific patient support program that will address the needs of the patients and their families in their journey to receiving and maintaining therapy from their HCP
- Actively shares new information and unmet medical needs gathered in HCP interactions with internal cross functional team to identify educational gaps where appropriate
Qualifications
- Medical or scientific qualification (M.S. or Pharm.D. preferred)
- At least 2 years’ experience in a medical role in industry, medical/scientific experience in rare diseases is preferred.
- Willingness to travel as it is a field-based role
- Strong customer orientation, science based
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
