Learning Lead, Strategic Reimbursement and Account Management

About The Role:
This role plays a pivotal part in our organization, combining expertise in learning and business to shape and implement a comprehensive and strategic learning approach. This strategy is designed to drive performance and measurable business outcomes across diverse account management roles, with a specialized focus on Key Account Management and Market Access & Reimbursement. Additionally, this role will champion strategic training initiatives, emphasizing advanced account management skills on a global scale.
 
Responsibilities:
Account Management Training:
Develop and implement foundational and advanced training programs specifically tailored to account management skills (ex: Navigating Complex Customers, Executive Presence and Interactions, Analyzing Data Trends, Negotiation) for MA&R field teams (RADs and NADs) as well as Commercial Teams with account-based focus.
Elevate specialized skills of all Commercial Teams with a focus on account management and advanced effectiveness training initiatives through new hire onboarding as well as continual education.
Design, deliver, and evaluate all workshops and continual education during all national and regional meetings as well as the tools and resources to support and elevate account management skills pre and post meeting.
Partner with MA&R leadership to engage in field rides and develop coaching model aligned with strategic imperatives.
Reimbursement Training
•    Design and develop training content to support the learning needs of field-based Reimbursement Managers;
•    Analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate (ADDIE) training programs and materials for continuing education of Reimbursement Managers
•    Support learning needs for ongoing reimbursement needs including product launches, national meetings, region meetings utilizing a blended learning approach with a mix of live and virtual platforms for delivery
•    Facilitate learning delivery for various audiences including new hires, national meetings, regional meetings, advanced and ongoing training
•    Engage with field leadership to provide feedback on developmental needs and performance
•    Design and analyze assessments to identify skills and knowledge gaps for future learning opportunities
•    Partner with internal stakeholders’ team to ensure a thorough understanding of products in marketplace, strategies, and tactics; develop training to support tactical implementation of strategy
•    Collaborate with Legal, Regulatory and Compliance to develop and secure approvals of learning content for commercial organization
•    Partner with Sales Leadership to understand learning needs and priorities for successful customer engagements.
•    Manager external vendors to build high quality learning content; ensure delivery on time and within set budget
•    Engage broadly within the US Leadership, Commercial Learning and Field Force Trainers to ensure alignment and achievement or organization
•    Apply principles of adult learning to ensure training effectiveness.  Access resources to keep up to date on industry best practices and learning strategies.
•    Develop workshops and learning materials to support US and Global learning needs
•    Be accountable for building a concrete understanding of Biogen’s stance and efforts around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, as well as integrate DE&I strategies into the talent lifecycle (e.g. talent management, hiring, compensation)
 
Strategic Learning Development:
Develop and cultivate deep business knowledge and partnerships to inform the global learning strategy, with a strong emphasis on advanced account management skills.
Design, develop, and implement cohesive, scalable, and sustained learning programs that cater to the diverse needs of our account management teams.
Align learning content to the latest market landscape to ensure the team maintains a competitive edge.

Global Collaboration and Impact:
Work collaboratively with the US Commercial Learning Team and Product Teams to align learning plans with product commercialization timelines, focusing on access and reimbursement learning needs.
Collaborate closely with all learning functions globally to integrate advanced account management training, leadership development, and other strategic priorities and ensure consistency among all commercial teams.
Leadership and Team Development:
Assess learning needs and devise flexible, scalable solutions to create demonstrable business impact including but not limited to market and business acumen, innovation, team leadership, coaching, etc.
Foster teamwork, collaboration, and a commitment to Biogen’s elements across the organization.
Operational Oversight and Impact:
Provide administrative oversight, manage budgets and timelines, ensuring adherence to policies and SOPs.
Contribute to building a concrete understanding of Biogen’s global stance and efforts around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, integrating DE&I strategies into the talent lifecycle.

Qualifications

Required Skills
5-7 years training experience in industry
3+ years sales experience in industry with demonstrated success, payer or key account management experience preferred
Strong executive presence and presentation skills to interact appropriately with all levels of the organization.
Patient access, patient services, patient affordability program experience and understanding required
Experience in and understanding of account selling techniques.
Proven experience fostering teamwork and collaboration, promotes teamwork within and across groups.
Demonstrated ability to influence others and accomplish goals within a matrixed environment.
Understands and implements change strategy; helps leadership navigate change and achieve sustainable performance.
Results oriented with excellent decision-making skills.
Agility and flexibility to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating customer focus that shows a commitment to the patient, customer and the business.

Preferred Skills
Previous experience leading learning and/or field teams
