About This Role

The Associate Director, Service Delivery for Manufacturing Infrastructure IT (MCN) will be responsible for the operations of the Global MCN Infrastructure platform. The role has direct oversight to the day-to-day operations of the infrastructure platforms hosted at manufacturing sites across the Biogen network to deliver and operate infrastructure that meets the needs of the PO&T business while ensuring global IT standards are met. Solution architect for the MCN to ensure that the design is maintained to ensure operational stability while managing cyber risks. This position will engage with the local PO&T site OT/IT teams as well as partner with IT engineering and operations team. This role will sit on the Manufacturing IT leadership team and will have 5 direct reports and manage external service providers. This role reports into the Sr. Director, Information Technology.

What You’ll Do

  • Owner of “MCN - Manufacturing Control Network including “OT Infrastructure” for Manufacturing System Platforms including Syncade MES, DeltaV Distributed Control System, PLC's, Lab Data Systems (Smartline Data Cockpit).
  • Solution Architect for the MCN – own the design and architecture including governing changes. The role will provide architectural guidance to application management / MSP groups responsible for building solutions.
  • Lead and Coordinator Global Infrastructure solutions at site (e.g. support of AD and firewall policies to allow proper access and communication from either AD security or network firewall policies, and commissioning and startup support).
  • Global Cyber Security Initiatives for the Manufacturing Control Network.
  • Incident, Change and Problem Management for MCN services. Subject Matter Expert (SME) for problem, risk and impact analyses related to the IT OT infrastructure, such as network components, servers and clients used in the MCN including participation in on-call team as needed.
  • Management and implementation of client and server infrastructures throughout the entire lifecycle including activities (Patch management, Anti-virus solution deployment, Backup, Restore and disaster recovery, Management of the MCN Active Directory, Configuration of file and print services, Initial installation, configuration, and deployment of client hardware).
  • Actively drive projects within scope with good governances and ensure alignment on all project details: objectives, scope, approach, deliverables, financials, schedule, dependencies, and risk.
  • Ensure financial commitments are met.

Qualifications

Who You Are

You are an experienced IT professional who has solid manufacturing process knowledge and experience automation systems.  You have a track record of successfully developing and leading teams.  You thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment and seek continuous improvement opportunities.

Required Skills

  • You have 10+ years of relevant experience as an IT OT engineer in the pharmaceutical industry, or equivalent, working in complex organizations with local and global interfaces.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Automation, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent BS/BA required in Life Sciences, Engineering, or IT
  • You have deep knowledge in the areas of IT architecture, IT infrastructure as well as IT quality and Cyber security.
  • Experience working with and managing a large, geographically dispersed systems integration partner and provide and assure 24/7 support of critical IT applications, collaborate with vendors to ensure timely and appropriate service levels while driving productivity and cost improvement without any compromise of service availability.
  • Experience working in a Life Sciences regulated environment and strong command of software validation and GxP processes.
  • Experience supporting compliance and internal / external audits.
