About This Role
The Sr. Manager of Business Planning reports into the North America FP&A organization and plays a critical role in managing key financial processes for the US Commercial organization. In conjunction with other team members, this individual will work across US Finance and Key commercial business partners to drive the strategic objectives of the organization by supporting all aspects of financial planning and analysis. This role will support all finance partnering activities for pipeline products in the US including assets which have the added complexity of an alliance partnership.
What You'll Do
- Forecast revenues, manage operating expense budgets/accounting, and serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership for pipeline assets.
- Generate management reports and presentations that communicate business health and performance against financial commitments.
- Lead routine FP&A processes, manage reports, and ad hoc analysis within the US business.
- Develop relationships and collaborate with key business partners to understand their operational and business needs for incorporation into financial plans.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting and forecasting process for revenue and operating expenses of pipeline products (Neuropsychiatry, Alzheimer's Disease, etc.)
- Work closely with commercial leaders team to formulate long term financial and strategic plans (including annual budgeting plans).
- Prepare and provide timely and relevant financial analysis and KPIs, business plans, and the identification of opportunities and gaps necessary to make informed business decisions.
- Develop materials for senior executive level presentations of financial results, strategic outlook, KPIs and ad hoc analysis.
- Communicate key drivers of past and future performance, including summarization of complex analysis in a manner that is appropriate based on the receiving audience.
- Manage key FP&A and accounting processes for the US Commercial Organization. Work collaboratively with US FP&A team to drive core processes and procedures for business planning and accounting.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree Required (preferably in finance, accounting, business, or economics)
- Minimum of 7+ years in a finance or accounting role with increasing levels of responsibility.
- A real aptitude for working with numbers; excellent ability to provide insights leading to informed decisions; confident communication and presentation skills.
- Track record of self-motivation, natural curiosity, independent and analytical thinking, problem solving, continuous process improvement, and excellent organization and communication/presentation skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Knowledge including Excel, Outlook PowerPoint, and Word Skills.
Preferred Skills
- A strong commercial acumen with prior experience in pharma or biotech industry.
- Experience in Essbase or Hyperion Systems and in SQL, PowerBI, or other analytics tools.
- CIMA, ACCA, CPA, or ACA certifications, experience in big 4 firm, or similar qualifications preferred
- Master’s degree in accounting or business.
