About This Role:

The Sr Clinical Scientist- Immunology sits within Biogen’s MS and Immunology Development Unit and is accountable for developing ground-breaking therapies in development for one or more programs in immunology; currently targeting lupus or other autoimmune diseases. The Sr Clinical Scientist will work cross-functionally and in close collaboration with the Multiple Sclerosis & Immunology clinical teams..  This position will report to a Senior Medical Director (or Director) and will provide clinical science support for assigned programs. Major areas of responsibility include clinical trial design, execution and interpretation of clinical trial results, contribution to regulatory submissions and interactions, publications and presentations. 

What You'll do:

  • Support one or more cross-functional Study Management teams to ensure successful design and implementation of clinical studies in MS&I and achievement of study quality metrics 

  • Under the guidance of the clinical lead, contributes to development and oversight of study protocols and amendments, clinical study reports, training documents, and other clinical and regulatory documents, monitor, review and interpret safety and efficacy data of ongoing studies. 

  • Contributes to the preparation and execution of investigator and advisory board meetings in collaboration with project teams and stakeholders 

  • Works effectively across multiple studies within MS&I 

  • Remains up to date on regulations and guidelines for the therapeutic area 

  • May require travel to field sites 

Who you are: 

You are passionate about developing new drug for patients with unmet need in lupus and you have previous clinical trial conduct and data analysis experience with high scientific rigor. You are ready to take on challenges, bring your solution’s finder and analytical skills to complement and work with a collaboratibe team of clinicians. 

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Previous experience in clinical trials required, preferably as in sponsor’s role, eg clinical scientist or clinical operations roles 

  • Experience in analysis and interpretation of clinical data (safety and efficacy) and a working knowledge of biostatistics, GCP, and regulatory requirements for clinical studies 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-based matrix environment 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, proficient with Excel, Word. 

  • High level of organizational and project management skills 

  • Experience interacting with Development Operations (Clinical Operations, Regulatory, QA) and clinical investigators 

  • Has approximately 2-5 years of clinical research experience, with a PhD or Pharm D degree. Qualified Candidates without PhD/PharmD with longer clinical research experience (> 5 yrs) are also encouraged to apply, would also consider other higher education degrees (MD).

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is $122,800 to $197,800. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job related years of relevant experience, internal equity, and location of the job. Additionally, this role is eligible for participation in Biogen’s LTI grants and other incentive programs.
