About This Role  
Biogen is seeking a proven DevOps Team Lead with expertise in IAM, specifically in systems used for directory services, authentication and authorization.  At Biogen, we call this Identity Assurance.  As DevOps Team Lead, you will be responsible for pulling together the appropriate analysts, developers, configurators, testing, documentation, and other resources necessary to deliver a defined sprint (or set of sprints) as per an approved project or in support of operations. You will need to be a technical expert and also lead a team of specialized technologists, providing the insights and engineering to protect Biogen from major cybersecurity incidents. This senior leader will report directly to the Head of Access Automation within our Cybersecurity organization and is the functional manager of 2 employees and a team of ~3-5 MSP resources.  Access Automation is a cornerstone of Biogen’s application security and GXP/Quality compliance programs.  This role will ultimately impact every key application user in the corporation and is a critical customer-facing leadership position within our Cybersecurity organization.  

What You’ll Do

  • Assess and understand Biogen's Authentication & Authorization requirements and target architecture, identify risks/gaps to current state, design and implement secure patterns for access within the context of Biogen's Access Management architecture to reduce risk/close the gaps 
  • Serves as a security expert in AD, Okta, RBAC, and PAM platform configuration/development, and on-going operations complying with enterprise and security policies, industry regulations, and best practices 
  • Develop the business, information, and technical artifacts that constitute Biogen's Identity security architecture and solutions 
  • Communicate security risks and solutions to business partners and IT staff 
  • Lead the hands-on design, development and integration of authentication and authorization solutions approved for development.  (From small enhancements to large-scale projects.) DevOps tools and technologies for deployment, monitoring, and operations of systems and applications 
  • Ensure that cybersecurity solutions are of high quality and meet or exceed stakeholder expectations 
  • Coordinate the efforts of development teams with that of operations teams to streamline the development process and build and evolve an automated, secure, and scalable continuous delivery pipeline with high-quality releases to end users 
  • Drive adoption and improvement of the Agile / DevOps approach to system development at Biogen 
  • Increase the adoption of continuous build, inspection, testing, automated deployment and performance monitoring approaches to ensure maximum uptime and optimal performance in the Production environment 
  • Ensure that cybersecurity solutions are delivered in compliance with organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Align with business governance bodies and procedures to ensure appropriate input across relevant stakeholder functions 
  • Ensure that all IT solutions are delivered within the allocated budget targets 

Qualifications

Who You Are  
You are resourceful and driven to deliver a superior product and customer experience. You have demonstrable experience building, engineering and troubleshooting complex processes, and conducting root cause analysis.  You are able to lead engineers, adapt to different stakeholders’ technical abilities and communicate effectively with business and IT professionals.  

Required Skills  
•    10+ years of IT experience, including 5-8 years of hands on experience with authentication and authorization technologies 
•    3-5 years experience managing / leading teams 
•    Deep subject matter expertise in Access Management platforms (MS Active Directory, Azure, Okta) and PAM platforms (CyberArk). Working knowledge of best practices for integration methodologies with these platforms for various use cases (ie. Human, IT Resources, Applications, Software Tools, Developer tools, Endpoints, IOT, and Industrial Controls/Equipment)

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is $113,700 to $183,300. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job related years of relevant experience, internal equity, and location of the job. Additionally, this role is eligible for participation in Biogen’s LTI grants and other incentive programs.
