About This Role

As the Director of Data Management & Analytics Services you will direct and oversee the design and development of systems used for managing data.  It includes data warehouses, data stores, and other business intelligence systems.  The position is accountable for working across IT (and some business units) to identify, catalog, governance, and provide all data points that are valuable to the Biogen organization.  The position is accountable for the enterprise Data Warehouse, BI & analytics toolsets, complex dashboard development, data science, data governance, data virtualization and other data related disciplines.  The position leads data architects and engineers to architect and deliver solutions that are fit-for-purpose.  Position provides advice, guidance, direction on all data related aspects to the organization.

What You’ll Do

• Lead large team of data architects and engineers to oversee the Data platforms
• Build strategy and roadmap for Biogen business units; including R&D, Manufacturing Operations, Compliance, Commercial, etc.
• Lower the time and cost to market for data availability
• Rationalize data management tools to streamline operations
• Provide architecture and deliver solutions for all functional IT groups data needs
• Manage the budgets and handle the Annual Operating Plan & forecast for the data domain
• Develop the platform strategy for the data domain that provides maximum benefit to Biogen
• Champion and lead Data Science initiatives
• Actively contribute to organization strategy efforts as part of Extended Leadership Team

Who You Are

You are a strategic leader who will define data strategy working in collaboration with business and IT to build a data driven culture within Biogen from the ground up.  You are a business-driven technologist looking to solve business problems using data technology.

Required Skills

• 7+ years in a large enterprise within the pharma/biotech industry is a must
• 12+ years in the data domain with experience in Data Warehousing, BI & Analytics tools necessary
• Extensive team leadership and management experience
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with Computer Related advanced technical degrees.
