About This Role
The Senior Solutions Architect will focus on designing and developing technical solutions to address business problems or meet requirements. The role involves understanding the needs and objectives of stakeholders, gathering requirements, and creating solutions that integrate various infrastructure components, technologies, and processes to deliver the desired outcome. The Senior Solutions Architect collaborates with cross-functional teams, analyzes trade-offs, considers cost, performance, scalability, and usability factors to create optimized solutions that meet customer expectations. The position requires a solid understanding of architectural concepts, architecture frameworks and maintaining architectural documentation.
What You’ll Do
- Solution Design: Responsible for designing infrastructure solutions that align with IT objectives and requirements. This involves understanding business and technical requirements, conducting feasibility studies, and developing architectural designs that encompass hardware, software, network, and security components. Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the solution lifecycle. Collaborate with cross-functions teams, including developers, engineers, and operations personnel, to insure implementation and integration of infrastructure components.
- Documentation and Communication: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the infrastructure architecture, including design documentation, diagrams, and technical specifications. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including leadership, project teams, and customers to ensure alignment and understanding of the infrastructure solution. As an infrastructure solutions architect, stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the industry.
- Capacity, Scalability and Risk: Assess the capacity requirements of the infrastructure and plan for scalability to accommodate future growth. Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
- Security and Compliance: Address security and compliance considerations in infrastructure solutions. This includes defining security controls, implementing security best practices, conducting vulnerability assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Collaboration and Mentoring: Collaborate with teams across the IT organization, including development, operations, and functions/business to understand their needs and provide guidance on infrastructure-related matters. Mentor and coach junior architects or team members, helping them develop their skills and expertise.

Qualifications
Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience working as an IT professional.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in infrastructure architecture. Designing and implementing infrastructure solutions, such as network architecture, server infrastructure, storage systems, virtualization, cloud computing, and security.
- University degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Experience in delivering infrastructure projects, designing scalable and resilient architectures, and working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with infrastructure automation, DevOps practices and knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
- Solid understanding of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in infrastructure architecture.
- Experience with different infrastructure technologies and platforms, such as AWS, Azure, Converged Solutions, etc.
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to influence opinions and decision-making of others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to motivate colleagues and manage stakeholder priorities in a deadline-oriented environment
Preferred Skills
- Pharma/Biotech experience preferred.
- ITIL Foundation
- Architecture certifications (AWS, Microsoft, etc.)
