About This Role  

Due to continued growth in our pipeline and a commitment to provide an uninterrupted service of our investigational medicinal products (IMP) to our patients, we are looking to identify an experienced candidate to support the operations and functions of critical business systems and processes within Biogen’s Clinical Drug Supply (CDS) organization.

We are looking for a Clinical Supply Chain Operations Analyst that collaborates with internal cross-functional groups within PO&T including IT, Business Process Owners, Quality Assurance, Management, and other functions on supporting the day-to-day use of various systems such as Product Lifecycle Management (Oracle), which is used for E2E supply planning.  In addition, the candidate will work with other systems such as our business process management tool, our resource planning tool (Planisware), Biogen’s QMS and other systems.  This role will build monthly metrics reports and support the delivery of key metrics to the CDS Leadership Team identifying any trends and/or opportunities.

Assists in the development of continuous improvement and process effectiveness and responsible for project management of CDS-led business optimization initiatives.  Requires big picture thinking in the framework of our CDS roadmap that will promote better visibility, control, and utilization of our inventory through analytics and dashboarding, which will strengthen asset-level or study-level decision-making.  The Clinical Supply Chain Operations Analyst will also have opportunities to lead or support other systems-based or process-based improvement initiatives. This role will report to the Associate Director of the Clinical Supply Capabilities team.

What You’ll Do  

Primary Responsibilities – Business Systems

  • Acts as subject matter expert for business-critical systems including Oracle EBS, PLM, FINE, PULSE, and ARIS business process management tool.
  • Creates up to 50% of system workflows including Authorizations to Manufacture and GCCs.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders from Quality, CDS, IT, and other departments to support system updates and ensures CDS representation in various forums (e.g. PLM super user community)
  • Collects and identifies feedback from end users such as Clinical Supply Managers and Clinical Asset Planners on an ongoing basis to improve upon system capabilities
  • Coordinates and delivers related training to CDS and other stakeholders
  • Establishes periodic reviews of our planning tool with key members of the CDS Leadership Team and other SMEs in the department
  • Supports and assesses new business systems or tools that will enhance E2E supply chain management and visibility designed to alleviate end user burden, data redundancy, and other considerations that contribute to the CDS Roadmap

Primary Responsibilities – Process Improvements and Metrics

  • Participates or leads process improvement engagements within CDS and/or the Global Supply Chain team
  • Reports monthly metrics within CDS Leadership leveraging internal CDS, R&D, and/or vendor systems and works closely with CDS Leadership on defining and delivering actionable metrics that drive accountability of our supply chain continuity

Other Responsibilities

  • Participates on cross-functional teams that includes Global Supply Chain, R&D, and/or IT business partners to support continuous operations and provides supporting data to help build and grow our supply chain metrics through data visualization.

Who You Are  

You are highly detail oriented with excellent documentation and presentation skills. You have supply chain system management and/or supply chain experience.  You have a proven track record of success in the following areas:

Qualifications

Required Skills  

  • Bachelors degree with 2 to 4 years supply chain experience, Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain concepts and how they are applied in a planning or manufacturing setting.
  • Effective communication across internal and external stakeholders resulting in improved systems implementation and management. 
  • Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of basic scope and complexity. 
  • Ability to recognize systems problems and recommend solutions.  Effectively identifying and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Solid communication skills verbal/written/phone. Command of MS Office suite.  Relationship management and project management skills. Must be systems-oriented and organized.
  • Problem-solving skills requiring an understanding of links and interdependencies across multiple departments. Ability to identify and escalate issues as necessary.
