About This Role

As the Senior Director, Global Medical Affairs – Neuropsychiatry within the Worldwide Medical organization, you will be responsible for leading the medical strategy of the Neuropsychiatry therapeutic area and ensuring successful regional partnership and medical launch readiness. You will provide leadership and direction to the global medical team and regional partners across neuropsychiatry, including Major Depressive Disorders (MDD) and Post-Partum Depression (PPD), and potentially expanding to other future areas of development under the Neuropsychiatry therapeutic.

This role will report to the Head of Global Medical for Neuropsychiatry & Alzheimer’s Disease in Worldwide Medical and work closely across multiple functions in R&D, Medical, Commercial and regional partners.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement global medical strategy for Biogen’s neuropsychiatry programs
• Serve as a key global medical representative to develop global plans with key cross functional partners (commercial, clinical development, market access, patient advocacy, regional medical, publications, communications, etc)
• Collaborate with regional and/or affiliate medical to ensure all medical activities are aligned with global medical strategy and capture key needs and insights from affiliates
• Manage a team of medical personnel, fostering team growth and development
• Lead global key medical expert engagement through meetings, advisory boards and congresses (live and virtual per local guidelines)
• Lead and develop post-market data generation and communication strategy
• Responsible for timely review of abstracts, publications, medical information letters, internal/external educational and communication materials, and other medical documents as needed
• Lead business planning processes including AOP and long-range planning

Your strong interpersonal, influencing and project management skills allow you to take initiative and solve complex and challenging problems. You have excellent communication (particularly both written and oral), leadership and presentation skills. You have past launch experience and have managed a small team.

Required Skills

• Minimum of Master’s level degree is required in a scientific / clinical discipline. Advanced scientific or clinical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD) is preferred. 
• 8-10+ years of Medical Affairs/pharmaceutical experience required. Experience with depression and/or neuropsychiatry in medical affairs ideal.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with regional and/or affiliate medical to ensure regional activities are executed in alignment with global medical strategy and ensuring the insights and needs from them are known and properly addressed.
• Track record of key medical expert engagement experience and collaboration.
• People management skills are strongly desired.

Preferred Skills:

• Product launch experience
• Data generation (especially registry experience)
• Experience with products at different stages of the lifecycle is a plus
