About This Role

The Cyber Security program manager oversees and coordinates multiple Cyber Security projects while giving detailed attention to program strategy, program implementation and project delegation. These programs are strategic in nature and represent significant financial investment by Biogen.  The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and proven ability to strategize and implement high-level program initiatives, manage budgets, and maintain organizational standards of quality and performance.  As a natural leader, the candidate will require strong talent for project coordination and delegation.  This leader is empowered with acquiring resources and managing the efforts of team members and third-party contractors and/or consultants to deliver programs according to plan. The program manager should be motivated by a desire to optimize productivity and nurture program success from inception to completion.

What You’ll Do

Strategy and Planning

  • Partner with project sponsor, cross-functional teams, external vendors, and assigned project managers to develop the scope, key milestones, required resources, work plan, budget and timing for new initiatives.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis. 

Acquisition and Deployment

  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve program goals. 
  • Partner with stakeholders to draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.

Operational Management  

  • Manage program and project teams for optimal return on investment and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives.
  • Manage budget for projects and deliver against established business goals and objectives.
  • Work with other program managers to identify risks and opportunities and work with leads and stakeholders to remove project impediments. 
  • Identify and manage dependencies and critical path. 
  • Analyze, evaluate and overcome program risks and produce program reports for managers and stakeholders
  • Ensure quality, sustainability and sound architectural fit is delivered with the finished product (service).

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

  • 5+ years in upper-management role, background in cyber security initiatives preferred
  • Demonstrated success across programs and projects – the more complicated the better
  • A track record of customer success with managing internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional skills in leadership, time management, facilitation and organization
