Job Description
About This Role
The successful candidate will be part of a team involved in target discovery and validation studies, in vitro assay development activities, compound screening and characterization using a wide variety of analytical techniques.
What You’ll Do
- Planning, designing, and executing experiments semi-independently in consultation with scientists in the group
- Performing a variety of in vitro and cell-based assays
- Conducting in vivo studies using mouse models of Alzheimer’s Disease and other Neurodegenerative Disorders
- Analysis, interpretation, and presentation of experimental results
Who You Are
You have strong expertise with in vivo studies. Experienced with molecular, biochemical and cell biological techniques, and cellular assay development/validation.
Qualifications
Required Education/Skills
- BS degree with 4+ years or MS degree with 2+ years of relevant bench experience in academia or biopharmaceutical industry
- In vivo experience with mouse models handling and takedowns
- Cell culture and aseptic techniques, including IPSC neurons, primary neuronal culture
- Biochemistry techniques (ELISA, WB, IP, protein extraction)
- Possess good understanding of basic neurobiology of neurodegenerative diseases and mechanisms of neurodegeneration
Preferred Education/Skills
- BS with 7 years of experience or MS degree with 3 year of relevant bench experience
- In vivo experience with dosing and stereostatic surgery
- Molecular biology and cell biology (required): Technical background should include cloning, DNA manipulation, qRT-PCR and other methods of RNA quantitation; Transfection techniques, generation of stable cell lines (Overexpression, knockdown/out, and coding variants);
