Job Description

This application is for a 12-week student role from June - August 2023. Resume review begins in January 2023. 

The Neuromuscular Development Unit (NMDU) is a component of the Research and Development organization, charged with phases of drug development from early discovery to the end of proof-of-concept clinical trials.  

Position Description 

As the summer intern, you will join Biogen to learn (by direct action with Biogen clinical teams) the process of clinical trial development including an understanding of ALS natural history, biomarkers, novel electrophysiologic outcomes and clinical trial endpoints.  

Responsibilities and projects will include: 

  • Intern will identify project in collaboration with the NMDU team 

  • Intern will present their work to the NMDU at the end of the program 

  • Participate in Neuromuscular program team meetings  

  • Support special projects or other activities assigned by clinical team and/or functional heads  

Qualifications

  • An interest in neuromuscular disease and clinical drug development  
  • Grade point average of 3.2 or higher preferred 

  • Ability to work remotely as needed 

To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria: 

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. 

  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date 

  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university 

Education 

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s level program
