About This Role
The Medical Department Sweden stands for integrity through unbiased, objective, and balanced medical-scientific dialogues on a peer-to-peer level with the medical community in general and key medical experts (physicians/scientists) in particular.
Under the leadership of the Head of Medical Sweden, the Sr. Medical Liaison Manager is an important member of the Swedish medical organization and will drive the correspondent therapeutic area (TA) medical strategy development in alignment with its Global strategy for Sweden.
The Sr. Medical Liaison Manager will collaborate with the Local, Regional and Global Cross-Functional Teams to set the strategic direction for that TA and establish Biogen as the most trusted medical-scientific partner of the Swedish medical community for that particular field.
In Sweden, the Sr. Medical Liaison Manager will work together with the Head of Medical Sweden for the development and implementation:
- Overall evidence generation strategy and plan in alignment with the other therapeutic areas’ teams
- Evidence dissemination strategy and plan
- External stakeholder engagement (particularly Key Medical Experts, KMEs).
The Sr. Medical Liaison Manager will be part of the voice of the Swedish Medical team and, as such, will very closely work with the remaining medical team, effectively partnering cross-functionally, clearly communicating and reporting, overseeing projects, activities and corresponding budgets with proactive, empowering leadership style, business acumen and high ethical standards.
What You’ll Do
- Guarantees timely planning and execution of the Swedish Medical strategy in that TA and corresponding activities (e.g., early access programs, evidence generation, health-care medical education, publications and medical-scientific communication, medical-scientific advisory boards, materials review, MSL/MLM excellence, internal medical training, value, and access support, etc.), and ensures their highest integrity.
- Liaises with ECP and Global TA correspondent medical and corporate affairs partners as well as Swedish cross-functional partners to ensure alignment and efficient execution of the medical strategy and plan. Ensures that the communication and the processes across the cross-functional team are aligned and running efficiently as well as ensures best practice sharing.
Provides medical knowledge/expertise and in the correspondent TA for the Swedish affiliate by:
- Being internal scientific/medical expert/trusted advisor to other staff members
- Liaising with global/EU+ medical and corporate affairs teams
- Demonstrating formal leadership on projects, define project objectives and timelines.
- Managing and maintaining relationships with key strategic and national/international KMEs, PAGs and top tier media.
- Leading resource for advisory boards.
- Strategically drive Biogen’s key focus areas and engagements through policy networks and trade-association (LIF) activities.
- Ensures that all activities are compliant with all applicable external regulations and internal policies and procedures. Supports compliance activities amongst others by providing trainings and developing SOPs.

You have a strong working experience in the life science industry in Sweden. You are passionate about making a difference to patients lives and you have the ability adapt and deliver with efficiency and discipline.
Qualifications
- Medical-scientific background (MD, PharmD, PhD or MSc)
- Excellent verbal and written communication in Swedish and English
- 5-8 years related experience
- Proven understanding of the life science industry and the ECP health-care systems
- Strategic thinking
- Business acumen
- Proven ability to develop and implement medical-scientific strategies and action plans (evidence generation, evidence dissemination - including the organization, management and implementation of HCP training and education programs)
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Capability to understand, interpret, and clearly and precisely communicate complex medical-scientific information
- Digital/omnichannel solutions

- Flexibility and creative problem solving
COMMUNICATION COMPETENCIES: Any other language than Swedish is an advantage. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to formulate medical-scientific narratives with precision.
