About This Role

You will serve as Biogen’s lead (Associate Director level) for BDH Ventures strategy and incubation of new investment themes and programs. Reporting to the the Head of BDH Ventures Strategy and Innovation, the Strategy and Incubation Lead will drive the ideation, prioritization, and business case development for new BDH Ventures portfolio programs as well as supporting strategic partner due diligence for identified strategic programs.

The BDH Ventures division is accountable for pioneering and shaping digital health opportunities that can become revenue-generating collaborations or assets for Biogen that are both synergistic and value-creating with our core business.  

What You’ll Do

  • Drive the identification and prioritization of new digital health development and investment priority areas under the leadership of the Head of BDH Ventures Strategy and Innovation
  • Evaluate new strategic BDH Ventures program opportunities, including market research, business case development, financial modeling, and justification for investment to internal stakeholders
  • Support the development of a commercial strategy for neuroimaging artificial intelligence (AI) products within the BDH Ventures portfolio
  • Contribute to the establishment of best-practice incubation methodologies and instill a continuous improvement mindset
    • Keep up to date on prioritized digital health themes (e.g., neuroimaging AI) landscape tied to the BDH Ventures portfolio
    • Collaborate with BDH team members to contribute to the development of best practices for external incubation

As the BDH Ventures Strategy and Incubation Lead, you are results and data-driven proactive problem solver with strong financial acumen.  You are a strategic thinker with experience creating strategy, gathering facts and data from a variety of sources, including internal and external experts as well as monitoring research and market trends. You have strong leadership skills, knowledge of the digital biopharma landscape, and have experience in business case development and financial modeling to validate the revenue potential of new programs.  You can influence without direct authority, including collaborating with senior stakeholders and functional experts, while remaining focused on realizing program objectives. You believe in accountability for yourself and your colleagues and have a track record of successfully driving results through strong partnerships.

Qualifications

Required

​​​​​​​- BA, BS degree minimum;  MS, MBA degree preferred

· 7+ years of experience working in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences industry, including experience in the interface of clinical development and digital health efforts

· Proven finance and/or and strategy experience

· Execution and results-oriented with demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills required

· Experience in due diligence and business development / corporate development preferred, including financial modeling for investment cases

· Strong communication skills across various levels and functions

Preferred

· Strategy consulting or finance (e.g., investment banking, private equity, venture capital) experience strongly preferred

· Expertise in neuroimaging AI and / or digital health is preferred
