Job Description

This application is for a 12-week internship role from June - August 2023. Resume review begins in January 2023.

This is a full-time intern role based at Biogen’s Pharma Site located in RTP, NC.  The Automation Intern will provide engineering assistance to multiple projects, including modifications to automation control systems based on Rockwell Allen Bradley hardware, Rockwell Factory Talk View, and Aveva WonderWare.  

The Intern will also assist Automation Engineers with other small project-based functions. 

Position Description

Key Responsibilities:  

  1. Reviewing and updating SCADA/HMI graphics 

  2. Executing test protocols  

  3. Perform usability testing. 

  4. Perform preventative maintenance tasks on the Automation Infrastructure 

  5. Document reviews 

  6. Project drawing reviews

Qualifications

  • Candidates for the intern position must have the following qualifications: 

  • Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies 

  • Basic programming knowledge in languages such as SQL, Python, or R 

  • Arduino/Raspberry PI programming experience is a plus 

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills 

  • Solid problem-solving skills 

 

To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria: 

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. 

At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date 

Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university 

Education 

Candidate should be an undergraduate engineering student and completed at least one year of the degree program. 

Desired majors include: 

Electrical Engineering 

Computer Hardware Engineering 

Computer Software Engineering 

Computer Science 

Chemical Engineering 

Applied Mathematics/Statistics 

Others may be considered
