About This Role

The Manager of PO&T Strategic Operations is responsible for supporting PO&T’s leadership team (LT) and overall PO&T operations by developing, maintaining, and continuously improving infrastructure to support PO&T business unit and strategic operations activities. The Manager of PO&T Strategic Operations drives information sharing and reporting, including materials for both internal PO&T use in addition to the Office of the CEO and Board of Directors and external stakeholders. In collaboration with the Head of Strategic Operations, the incumbent develops and maintains standards and templates to effectively manage overall PO&T short- and long-term activities.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve collaboration and communication infrastructure to support PO&T business unit and strategic operations activities.
  • Identify and source appropriate collaboration tools and lead the development and integration of the tools into the day-to-day work of PO&T operations to maximize their effectiveness in driving and monitoring PO&T activities.
  • Identify and apply organizational effectiveness principles to ensure overall strategies are robust.
  • Manage and maintain information to support PO&T functional overviews and presentations.
  • Provide oversight to overall PO&T administrative function and ensure effective prioritization to achieve most critical goals in required timeframes.
  • Manage and continuously improve business processes for PO&T information sharing and reporting, inclusive of both standard reporting such as CEO bullets and letters, and non-standard reporting, which may include those for audiences external to Biogen.
  • Develop consistent and purposeful narratives supported by data for PO&T reporting to stakeholders.
  • Provide direct support to PO&T functions as needed for business review development, logistics coordination and alignment, and general operations management activities.
  • Support the decision making and associated communication processes of the LT, considering the diverse views of individual line functions and LT members

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, Psychology, Social Sciences, Organizational Effectiveness, or related field; MBA or business training preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar field
  • Must have demonstrated experience working in or leading in a highly matrixed, fast growing, and global organization as well as with handling complex requests
  • Strong understanding of best-in-class operation organizations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills/ highly collaborative
  • Understands Biogen culture, organizational structure, and processes
  • Strong organizational skills; project/ timeline management capabilities
  • Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to draw insights from data quickly, perform analyses and present business cases

Additional Information

You will provide oversight to overall PO&T administrative functions, including collaboration tools and supporting information. The Manager of PO&T Strategic Operations provides direct support to PO&T functions without dedicated resources to support business review development, logistics coordination with business units or stakeholders external to PO&T, and general operations management activities.
