About This Role
The Medical Director, Alzheimer’s Disease (to be referred to as AD) role is a part of AD Medical team, a strategic partner within Biogen, that helps inform medical practice across our AD and dementia pipeline to improve meaningful patient outcomes. As a key member of the Global AD Medical Director office team reporting to the AD Head Biogen’s priority is to continue to foster and enable a diverse and inclusive workforce – representing age, gender, sexual identity, race, ethnicity, Veterans, and people with disabilities – that reflects the communities where we operate and the patients who we serve.

What You’ll Do
- Lead the long-range planning, development and execution of the AD medical strategy, tactics and budget for AD in alignment with Global strategy & US budgetary expectations.
- Serve as the AD Medical expert for collaborative research projects and provide medical oversight for commercial promotional materials.
- Serve as the AD Medical contact for key functions/stakeholders within the affiliates (e.g. Field Medical Teams (MSLs, Medical Account Directors), Commercial, Market Access, Legal/Compliance, Epidemiology, Pharmacovigilance), effectively interacting and collaborating at multiple levels.
- Work closely with R&D on study design, analyses plan and data interpretation
- Organizes scientific data exchange and presentations at congresses
- Contribute to the development/adaptation of medical materials (e.g. presentations, trainings, medical briefs and talking points) for the US Medical team according to DSMR requirements and manage submission processes.
- Present data at AD Medical affairs events, including advisory boards and trainings as well as congresses & medical education events. Build and nurture relationships with external stakeholders (including HCPs, healthcare institutions and advocacy groups) in AD therapeutic landscape.
- Create positive team climate in alignment with Biogen’s culture. Ensure individuals within AD are effectively assessed and coached with talent development plans in place that will be executed as appropriate.

Qualifications
Required Skills
- Terminal Degree with neurology clinical experiencee
- Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably with prior work in Headquarters-based Medical Affairs role &/or Field Medical based role. Substitution of industry work with relevant clinical practice experience in AD may be considered.
- Relevant experience in AD required
- Strong working knowledge of US regulations as relevant to Medical Affairs
Preferred Skills
- Experience products at different stages of the lifecycle
- Experience working in an alliance with another Pharma Company
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and collaborate with global, regional and/or affiliate medical to ensure regional activities are executed in alignment with global medical strategy and ensuring the insights and needs from them are known and properly addressed
- Ability to manage projects and take initiative to solve complex and challenging problems
- Experience managing and developing a team of Medical Affairs professionals
