About This Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of Biogen’s Global Neuromuscular Disease (NMD) business as a strategic partner to the Global Commercial/Marketing team, and to shape the insight function within Biogen as an individual contributor.
The Senior Manager, Global Customer & Market Insights, is expected to partner with commercial leads to proactively plan, design, and lead market research activities to provide deep strategic insights and actionable recommendations. The role is required to leverage technical skills in market research, competitive intelligence, and analytics to support business decisions aligned to the lifecycles of Biogen’s exciting NMD franchise (focused on rare disease; e.g. SMA and ALS).
The senior manager will also support the development of capabilities and process excellence within the Customer & Market Insight team, as needed.
What You’ll Do
- Expert Insight Generation: Lead a therapy area with expert insight generation to support Global commercial and brand strategies, in collaboration with the commercial/brand leads and extended cross functional, US and ex-US affiliate stakeholders
- Primary Market Research Execution: Lead robust insight generation initiatives to impact the creation of global commercial and brand strategies
- Competitive Intelligence: Co-lead Competitive Readiness Team; manage CI deliverables such as regular market landscape and congress monitoring
- Partner with key commercial stakeholders to plan priorities and execute deliverables for the annual brand planning process (e.g. Situational Assessment, Global Market Outlook)
- Develop and lead the strategic marketing frameworks for the brand (Customer Journey, Market Map, Buying Process)
- Performance reporting: Lead the global quarterly performance reporting; partner with commercial/brand leads to ensure key performance indicators are aligned with brand strategy
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build key relationships with affiliate and cross-functional experts, to define problems, design research, and synthesize insights to support commercial team decision making with clear crisp communication
- Work with the Customer & Market Insight Leadership Team to identify and implement improvements to team operations

Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience within a life sciences consulting firm, pharmaceutical company, or market research vendor supporting the pharma/biotech industry
- Driven, self-motivated individual with ability to own a high-profile part of the business
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and succinctly communicate large amounts of information to various audiences
- Strong understanding of market research and marketing principles
- Excellent project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Analytical horsepower – strong analytic and quantitative skill set
- Highly collaborative, team player – must be able to navigate in a matrix environment and manage the needs of multiple stakeholders
- Bachelors degree; advanced degree preferred
- Ability to travel as needed
Preferred Skills
- Rare disease experience helpful
- Prior experience with pharmaceutical data sources is desirable
