Increasingly, transformational break-through therapies will require activation of the broader healthcare ecosystem and strategic partners in order to bring true impact to patients.
The Senior Director, Strategic Partnerships & Collaborations will be a key leader of a team responsible for executing high impact strategic partnerships to drive growth across the enterprise. The executive has shown the ability to lead and execute within complex healthcare organizations, possess a deep understanding of the broad US healthcare landscape, tracks emerging healthcare trends and is able to map to the strategic direction of the company. The executive will be able to identify strategically important partnership themes and play the role of a trusted advisor to Biogen’s Business Franchises, working collaboratively to define problem statements that can be addressed by strategic partnerships. This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Collaborations and will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of strategic partnerships as well as continued management of strategic relationships.
What You’ll Do
• Identify, source and execute US revenue driving partnerships with non-traditional external partners
• Engage at senior levels with both Biogen leadership and executives at prospective partners
• Ability to conceptualize, negotiate, and drive end-to-end execution of strategic partnerships
• Understand the needs of the therapeutic franchises and bring an entrepreneurial and creative approach to developing new, innovative ideas that will stretch the organization and push boundaries within the industry
• Thrive in ambiguity and uncertainty with the ability to to adapt nimbly and solve complex problems by developing simple solutions and collaborations
• Quickly grasp business case opportunities / understand value levers to hone in on win-win opportunities for Biogen and partners
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years of progressive healthcare/pharmaceutical and/or agency/consulting experience
• Strong executive presence/articulate presentation skills, ability to tell the story (relationship management)
• Experience presenting with c-suite and senior leaders internally and externally
• Deal negotiation and transaction expertise
• Strategy experience with an ability to understand value levers and develop business cases
• Ability to take ambiguous opportunities and complex problems and identify quick win opportunities for collaboration
• Up to 25% travel
