Global Business Services and Business Optimization

The Global Business Services (GBS) and Business Optimization team is a newly formed organization established to transform Biogen’s business processes to set a platform to scale global operations, fuel commercial growth and the innovation pipeline.  Further, GBS will provide further value by developing and delivering a suite of business solutions and support services that are valued by internal customers.   GBS will deliver services by leveraging a global delivery model, operational transparency and metrics, leveraging global best practices, and a service-oriented process improvement culture.   All solutions will be supported by strong business cases and ultimately monitored for the effectiveness and efficiency against benchmarks and service level agreements.

The GBS Business Optimization team will champion building a continuous improvement culture that other parts of the organization will recognize and seek out for business support.  We are developing a performance-based culture supported by tools, training, and well-defined accountability, where people can build their career or prepare for a role in the wider business or elsewhere within GBS. About the role

Responsibilities:

Develops a Biogen global strategy for Supplier Diversity and key performance indictors to ensure that small and diverse suppliers are partnered with sourcing objectives and supplier diversity initiatives.

Responsible for developing relationships and affiliations with MWBE suppliers

Responsible for increasing the number of minority- and women-owned business enterprises into the supply base (Collaborates with Category Mgrs. And Business Stakeholders)

Manage diverse supplier database (maintain the data integrity for internal and external reporting requirements) and supporting documentation

Partners with category management to set objectives, review external databases to drive inclusion efforts, and produce quarterly reports to measure progress against established annual goals.

Applies knowledge and understanding of Supplier Diversity issues by collecting and analyzing market information, managing actions plans and providing expertise in identifying potential suppliers to continuously enhance the Supplier Diversity Program

Identifies and leads CI initiatives in partnership with stakeholders

Performance Indicators:

Increase in the number of minority- and women-owned business enterprises participating in RFXs

Increase in diversity spend

Awards received from external sources regarding Diversity

Ability to provide appropriate reporting metrics for audits

Implemented CI and associated value

Qualifications

Required Skills

5-7 years' experience 

Strong leadership and influence skills that inspire trust and collaboration

Passion for innovation and improvement for Supplier Diversity Program

Strong customer focus and willingness to champion changes in support of overall improvement of the Supplier Diversity Program

Understand the business to drive suppliers toward relevant continuous improvement in supplier diversity

Ability to work with multiple stakeholders

Knowledge of supplier diversity best practices

Drive leadership and nurture supplier relationships

Strong communication skills and executive presence

University degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required; advanced/graduate degree preferred.
