Job Description

The Director, Value & Access is a key individual contributor to the Biogen International Region (BIR) with specific responsibilities managing Biogen’s partners in Partner Markets. You will be responsible for the Governmental Affairs Value & Access (GAV&A) tactical and strategic activities of the partner market working closely with the partners. These activities include price negotiation, value dossier localization and value submission for the countries and any other related V&A tasks.

You will be based in our International HQ in Baar, Switzerland and will report to the VP GAV&A BIR.

What you'll do:

·         Manage the relationship for GAV&A related matters with Biogen partner in BIR partner markets in Middle East and LATAM.

·         Supervised tasks will include the following:

o    price negotiation, value dossier localization and value dossier submission for Biogen portfolio,

o    developing a comprehensive negotiation strategy for Biogen portfolio in collaboration with the partner,

o    representing the affiliate at the BIR pricing council, the Market Access council, and any other regional governance body when GAV&A topics for the partner markets are in scope.

What we'll offer:

This is a single contributor role without direct or indirect reports. You will be the GAV&A contact of reference for any questions related to the countries in scope for the Global and Regional teams. You will have the opportunity to work in an agile and cross functional global team, collaborating with regional and global teams to ensure a smooth implementation across affiliates.

 

·     Your geographical responsibilities (partner markets)

o    Work jointly with the partner and counterparts in Global and Regional Value & Access functions to develop the overall Value & Access strategies,

o    Work on Price Business cases with the partner to seek approval from the BIR Pricing Council,

o    Work on Business Reviews preparation with the Finance team to accurately present the access/price risk and opportunities as well as the access/price mitigation plans,

o    When agreed with the partners:

1.   Coordinate research projects to generate supportive data for our payer value story,

2.   Coordinate project budget at regional level to effectively generate the reimbursement and market access evidence to support our payer value stories,

3.   Develop an effective product launch strategy.

Qualifications

·         Masters and/or relevant degrees in discipline including Economics, Public Health, Health Care, or Health Services. Medical or Pharma degree is preferred but not required.

·         Minimum of 5 years of relevant Value & Access industry experience. Experience in the region required.

·         Fluent English skills as well as Arabic required

·         Proficient leadership, influencing, strategic planning and organization, decision making and problem-solving skills.

·         Proficient HEOR technical skills, including modeling (cost-effectiveness and budget impact), patient-reported outcomes analyses, and conducting real-world outcomes studies.

·         Strong understanding of payer environment, both in partner markets and globally, including coverage and reimbursement, value drivers, formulary management, health technologies assessment, and health policy.

·         Experienced in developing payer policy and strategies.

·         Understanding of pharmaceutical product development and/or commercialization.  Ability to develop deep therapeutic expertise.

·         Effective project management skills.

·         Strong written and verbal communication to effectively convey strategic and technical value and access information/issues to key stakeholders.

·         Ability to build relationships,  strong collaboration, and teamwork across functions.

·         You display business confidence to constructively challenge marketing and clinical colleagues.

·         You have a strong sense of urgency and delivery orientation.

·          You are experienced in supporting pricing and reimbursement negotiations with payers.
