Biogen is seeking a highly motivated proteomics scientist to develop, implement, and execute proteomics experiments to support therapeutic research and drug discovery programs.

What you’ll do

As the Scientist I, Proteomics, you will work in the proteomics group in Chemical Biology and Proteomics department on Cambridge, MA. You will work and collaborate with project scientists on designing, executing, and interpreting proteomics studies to impact portfolio projects and facilitate the development of neuroscience therapeutics. As part of your responsibilities, you will develop novel technology platform and maintain/troubleshoot proteomics lab instrumentation. 

You are expected to be familiar with widely used proteomics technology platforms including advanced sample preparation strategies (e.g. labeling, crosslinking and pulldown), and quantitation and multiplexing methods (SILAC, TMT, etc.). You will also process and analyze mass spectrometry data using public/commercially available and/or in-house developed software. The position requires active interaction and collaboration with group members and project team scientists.

Who you are:

You are a Proteomics Scientist with a solid understanding of protein biochemistry and molecular biology. You have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work independently in a highly interdisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

·         A Ph.D. with 0-2 years, or MS/BS with 8 or more years of relevant industry experience in proteomics, protein bioanalytics or biochemistry, or equivalent field is required. Postdoctoral experience is desired.

·         Hands-on experiences in proteomics sample preparation and in nanoLC-MS based proteomics are essential.

·         Proficiency in advanced proteomics and other relevant technologies including cell culture, TMT or SILAC, ABPP, IP-MS, and WB etc.

·         Experience with chemoproteomics methods is desirable.
