The Head of ECP Field Medical Strategy and Execution:

• Leads the ECP Field Medical Team - a group of MSLs, MLMs and MSL Managers from around 30 countries, operating in a complex matrix organization

• Ensures the continuous professional development of the team members

• Ensures the continuous development of tools, work processes and systems

To obtain highly effective engagements with healthcare professionals while putting the patients at the center.

This is a highly visible and critical role as it leads the largest Medical Team within ECP; the Field Medical employees being our main direct medical scientific interface with healthcare professionals across the region. Hence it is a key member of the Regional Medical Leadership Team (RMLT), reporting to the Head (VP) Medical ECP.

The position holder will define and proof the Field Medical Team’s value and will closely collaborate with several stakeholders such as Medical, Commercial, Value and Access, Clinical Research, Regulatory Affairs and other to define strategic priorities and to enable the execution of the local field medical strategy and programs.

The Head of ECP Field Medical Strategy and Execution will represent ECP’s perspective in several global forums.

LEADERSHIP AND TEAM 

LEAD THE ECP FIELD MEDICAL STRATEGY AND EXECUTION (FMS&E) TEAM (ALL THERAPEUTIC AREAS)

• Build, develop and lead a high performing ECP FMSE team

• Serve as point of contact for senior leadership

• Identify unmet medical needs and opportunities relevant for Field Medical innovation and differentiation

• Ensure best practice sharing across affiliates to enhance efficiencies and ways of working

• Ensure transition to new engagement model(s) in close partnership with business functions and Medical ECP therapeutic areas lead

STRATEGY AND ACTIVITIES PLAN

FURTHER ESTABLISH THE MEDICAL AND SCIENTIFIC REPUTATION OF BIOGEN AS LEADER IN NEUROSCIENCE

 ·         Develop Field Medical strategy and ensure implementation of Field Medical programs across ECP. This refers to:

o    Evidence generation

o    Evidence dissemination

o    Engagement with healthcare professionals

·         Partner with Global to optimize strategic external communication narrative and materials

·         Develop strong peer-to-peer scientific partnerships with internal and external stakeholders

·         Define and manage the ECP FMS&E budget

PROCESSES, SYSTEMS AND TOOLS

LEAD OF THE ECP EVOLUTION AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE GLOBALIZATION OF MEDICAL VALUE

·         Further optimize and standardize processes and systems supporting the work of the Medical Field Team to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency

·         Define measurable and meaningful goals to optimize engagement with key medical experts and healthcare professionals (KPIs, metrics)

·         Further develop and fully leverage omnichannel (including digital) engagement tools

• Education: Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacology or Medicine

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the life science industry (pharmaceutical or biotechnology)

• Minimum 5 years field medical experience across diverse therapeutic areas (country and international level)

• You will work toward the highest ethical standards and integrity, demonstrate excellent leadership skills, including informal leadership and ability to work and lead in a highly matrixed, very diverse environment

• You will have gained excellent managerial skills, organizational skills as well as communication skills

• Visionary and strategic thinker

• Analytical and agile problem solver as well as results oriented

• Ability to embrace and implement change

• You have a strong business acumen and executive presence

• Fluent in English, additional languages beneficial
