Job Description

As Care & Operations Manager (COM) you will develop strategic partnerships with key external stakeholders during the entire life cycle of Biogen products, providing focused, relevant information in relation to customer-stated needs to maintain a therapeutic leadership position and drive business needs aligned with local and global strategies.

Of key importance is that the COM ensures that Biogen has a high reputation among our customers in terms of scientific knowledge and skills.

 

The successful candidate will:

1.        Create, maintain and develop trustful customer relationships and provide information supporting the optimal use of Biogen products.

·         Build relationship with external stakeholders as healthcare professionals, pharmacies, and institutions to establish and maintain therapeutic leadership position

·         Communicate accurate product information. Upon request provide responses to questions in line with the SmPC. The responses and messages are pre-approved. The role is on Annual Bonus Plan and not incentivised based on Account or Territory sales performance.

·         Ensure appropriate KME/institutional involvement in Biogen activities.

·         Communicate KME feedback on product development and life-cycle strategies.

·         At the Account level manage the services and resource offers provided by Biogen.

·         Build solid knowledge of the account’s stakeholders’ priorities, processes, business needs, drivers and barriers for patients’ access to DMTs.

                  

2.         Key Responsibilities

•         Analyzing account customer needs related to product use and disease management, defining action plans, implementing local strategies, organizing programs and related efforts that will positively impact others’ understanding of and interest in the assigned products.

•         Co-ordinate and lead local cross-functional meetings and partner with and pull resources from the market access, marketing and medical teams to support account activities and to provide the accounts with expert support as needed, securing strategic alignment and effective execution of plans.

•         Job holder must respect internal rules and all rules based on the respective legal and ethical (EFPIA and LIF codes) standards. Any safety related information concerning Biogen products (adverse event / suspicion on adverse event etc.) must report to the Affiliate Safety Designated Staff in accordance with current internal company rules. Any quality related information concerning Biogen products (product complaints / product defects / suspicion on product defects / falsified medicinal products etc.) must reports directly to the Manager, Quality & Governance in accordance with current internal company rules.

3.        Competence

 •         Maintain best in class knowledge in order to assure demonstration of  industry-leading understanding of disease state, products (Biogen and competition), clinical practices, market dynamics, and healthcare systems; Proactively seek external opportunities for learning, including conferences, seminars, and professional associations; Participate actively in training to acquire and advance knowledge; regularly seeks and acts on feedback; in order to be seen as the internal and external expert.

 

4.        Optimizing product and company added value

·          By listening to the key stakeholders needs and expectations in the field of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and SMA treatment and by implementing appropriate tactics in line with our key imperatives and goals.

·          By adapting and/or developing materials /events, campaigns in close collaboration or with the implication of key stakeholders so that these would optimally fit the market needs/expectations

·          By pulling through some tactics/ new materials developed outside the sector which could fit the market needs  

 

 

Qualifications

  • Academic degree in Natural Science, Medical or equivalent

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Pharma industry. An extra plus with experience from different functions e.g. Medical, Commercial and Market Access

  • You will demonstrate good analytical and planning skills and a structured and systematic approach to what they do.  Good at solving problems as well strong business acumen

  • Effectively leads and collaborates with key stakeholders internally and externally to mobilize resources and achieve better patient and business outcomes

  • You will have gained prior project management skills

  • Health economy and budget impact model knowledge, business planning, key account management principles

  • Communication skills: you have  an ability to tailor the communication to what he/she knows will resonate with the individual stakeholder and packages information in tight packets that are relevant, digestible, and easy to remember.

  • Proactivity: you have an ability to proactively collaborate with key stakeholders both internally and externally and work to build scientifically strong and credible relationships with all the key stakeholders in the community.

  •  In addition you will have the ability to synthesize complex information quickly; and have  an ability to connect the dots and quickly perceives the implications of new information and use it.

  • Ganed prior knowledge and skills/competencies regarding scientific and statistical interpretations of clinical studies

  • You are  persistent and resourceful, creative and demanding with an ability to find solutions that are credible. In addition the successful candidate is hard working and loyal, and has a high will power, perseveres, is goal-driven, and takes initiative to make things happen. At the same time, is externally focused, socially intelligent, and sensitive to the needs, goals, and constraints of others. Highly perceptive and demonstrates social intelligence.
