About This Role
The Sr Analyst III, Specialty Programming leads and oversees analytical programming activities pertaining to real world data, outcomes research data, clinical data, biomarker and genomic data and other types of data analysis outside the typical analysis required for a clinical study report. He/she is responsible for the production statistical specifications including but not limited to: analysis datasets, tables, listings, figures; simulations, statistical modeling, integration of biomarker analyses with interpretation, and contribution to abstracts and papers. He/She partners with other functions in Medical Evidence Research and Innovation (Biomarkers and Technology, Networks, Real World Evidence Strategy and Analytics) to deliver high quality deliverables.
What You'll do
He/She is also responsible for serving as a liaison with the Data, internal and external data partners, monitoring and meeting agreed upon project(s) milestones, escalating issues as needed to appropriate Data vendor and estimating resources needs. He/She communicates issues, as necessary, to senior management and collaborates with clinicians and biostatisticians as needed. This includes communication and quality oversight of the vendor. He/She has diverse problem-solving skill and is comfortable representing the analytical programming perspective to the Project Team and is often the sole functional representative.
Principal Responsibilities
- Leads, coordinates and manages timely creation, oversight, review, completion, and delivery of statistical programming activities and deliverables of study projects via internal and/or external staff oversight
- Authors statistical specifications including the identification of potential data issues or areas of critical data examination. Works with statistics/clinicians on documenting/implementing programming endpoint algorithms across a project.
- Manage the end-to-end programming of deliverables from data curation through final submission of deliverable which may include preparation for abstracts and manuals; Review and provide feedback on Statistical Analysis Plans (SAP)
- Identifies process inefficiencies and lead efforts to remedy the inefficiencies
- Serves as the Statistical Programming Lead to achieve milestones for program; evaluates task objectives, collaborates with internal/external partners and/or manager on issues or resource needs
- Verifies program consistency and usage of data, analysis across the department in conjunction with consultation on the statistical strategy plan
- Informs internal and external project team members of statistical programming requirements, deliverable status, and resource needs
Qualifications
- Knowledge of SAS and other software development packages (R, Python etc.)
- Extensive knowledge of statistical methods
- Knowledge of mathematical modeling
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills, and ability to effectively lead and collaborate with all functions
- High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
· Ability to understand and decipher scientific paper results for the application to current analysis
Education
MS with 5-7 or PhD with 1+ years relevant work experience within an organization with a focus on statistical analysis and interpretation of data in various languages (R, SAS, SPSS, Python etc.)
