Head of Finance, Switzerland 

 

About This Role

In this position, you will be a key member of the Swiss Affiliate management team and a key contributor for the international Finance team. You will own and oversee all aspects of local Finance, business operations and business services and be responsible for financial planning/monitoring. The incumbent will act as a strong Finance Business Partner for local and international management, lead monthly/ quarterly reviews as well as planning cycles, assure timely and accurate compliance to local laws and regulations.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Provide rigorous and incisive analysis of revenue and its components, Operating Expenses drivers, margins/ratios and profit/contribution to drive improved performance
  • Monitor ongoing business performance against budgets/forecasts/KPI’s. Report on reasons for variances, advising local management on any appropriate action.
  • Ensure that all procedures are in compliance with Corporate policies, local laws, US GAAP and SOX, as well as local statutory GAAP, fiscal rules and payroll.
  • Responsible for in-time preparation and audit of the Financial Statement and Corporate Income Tax Return.
  • Oversee all aspects of financial and resource planning, including the development of long range plans, annual budgets, and quarterly/monthly forecasts through close coordination with local management and international finance teams
  • Lead financial reviews and play a key role in other business reviews and Annual Operating Plan
  • Active member of Affiliate Leadership Team advising on affiliate business and performance and contributing to identifying organizational opportunities and effectively addressing risks.
  • Local responsible person for Facilities through dotted line reporting of the local Office Manager as well as for Business Services
  • Develop and promote talent, organize succession planning and ensure that team member has a meaningful development plan

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in business, economics, or finance and/or CPA/Chartered Accountant MBA or similar preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of US GAAP experience, preferred within pharmaceutical industry
  • Strategic mindset, to support leadership in long term transformation journeys
  • Ability to identify “weak signals” and underlying trends, to be then transformed into action plans to capture opportunities or mitigate risks
  • Proven ability to execute strategic projects/tasks AND financial/operational planning/accounting tasks
  • Strong accounting, controls, compliance, statutory experience as well as strong financial, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Legal/contracting and payroll environment and execution knowledge
  • Hyperion Essbase (or similar system) knowledge. Moderate/advanced
  • Powerpoint skills required
  • Fluent in English and local language
