This is for a 6-month remote position from July - December 2021.

Biogen’s Corporate Reputation and Responsibility Team help Biogen achieve its corporate commitments by supporting the organization’s sustainability, community, and foundation work.

Position Description

Supporting Biogen’s efforts to be the leader in neuroscience, this role helps to drive the execution of Biogen’s corporate brand and reputation program as well as overall corporate responsibility. This role works to strengthen Biogen’s reputation as a neuroscience leader – from developing strategies to enhance, build and protect Biogen’s brand to executing key programs globally to help engage and inspire Biogen’s stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Support corporate brand and responsibility campaigns and tools globally across Biogen, including implementation, measurement, and guidelines.
  • Support Biogen’s processes around issues management, researching and developing positions as needed, and working cross-functionally with company stakeholders.
  • Support execution of Biogen’s global Corporate Responsibility strategy and programs, including implementing key initiatives and engaging stakeholders (i.e. Healthy Climate, Healthy Lives).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional subject matter experts to help develop employee engagement opportunities (i.e. ourIMPACT, employee resource network).
  • Create authentic and compelling communications materials for Biogen’s brand, narrative, and value proposition, as well as corporate responsibility efforts, as needed. May include developing/writing stories.
  • Identify and develop innovative initiatives for environmental sustainability to support climate strategy and goals of the Healthy Climate, Healthy Lives initiative.
  • Amplify our impact by being a catalytic Corporate Responsibility leader and inspire and engage employees that connect to the business and elevates Biogen’s profile.

Qualifications

  • Experience in (or passion for) corporate affairs, responsibility / sustainability / CSR roles or equivalent.
  • Drives effective communications.
  • Professional who challenges conventional wisdom in order to deliver innovative plans and initiatives.
  • Must possess the ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  •  21st-century communicator – strong knowledge of digital platforms, social media, rudimentary video, and awareness of emerging technologies.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and interact with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to represent Biogen in a variety of community settings.
  • Creative, pioneering, agile, and flexible. Possesses a natural curiosity and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong initiative, sense of urgency, and ability.

To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Grade point average of 3.2 or higher preferred
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
