About This Role

This role's responsibilities will be the design and execution of lab-scale protein purification process development studies. This includes the analysis of process and product quality data from liquid chromatography studies, authoring of technical reports, and the presentation of results to process teams. 

What You'll Do

• A strong understanding of the fundamentals of liquid chromatography
• Familiarity with statistical concepts used in the design of experiments
• An understanding of the properties of protein solutions, protein structures, and the physicochemical methods used to characterize them (eg, UV-Vis spectroscopy, conductivity, viscosity, UPLC, or capillary electrophoresis)

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry
• 0-2 years of relevant experience
• Design and execution of lab-scale protein purification process development studies.
• Hands-on experience with protein purification techniques such as affinity chromatography, size exclusion, ion-exchange, and/or hydrophobic interaction chromatography is a plus, as is experience with automated chromatography systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as good organizational and time management skills

Preferred Skills:

• Understanding of bioseparation technologies such as normal-, tangential-, or depth-filtration, UF/DF, and centrifugation
