About this role
The individual will perform cell-based assays to measure viral vector infectivity, transgene expression, and functional potency with broad variety of readouts such as qPCR/ddPCR, MSD- or DELFIA-based immunoassays, ELISA, luminescence, high content imaging, FACS etc.
What You'll Do
- Involved in new technology evaluation and implementation
- Responsibilities include data analysis, report writing and reviewing, internal technical presentations
- Help support genome titer and process-related impurity assessment.
Who You Are
The successful candidate will support development, improvement, qualification, execution, and troubleshooting of various biological assays for characterization of the AAV gene therapy and protein biologics. The scientist will also assist in implementation of new technologies.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Associate Scientist II - B.S.in Molecular/Cell Biology, Virology, or related Biological Sciences with 0+ years of experience.
- Associate Scientist III - B.S.in Molecular/Cell Biology, Virology, or related Biological Sciences with 2+ years of experience.
- Solid understanding of Cell and Molecular Biology
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and PCR is required
- Hands-on experience with bioassays in 96-well format and multichannel pipetting is strongly preferred
- Experience with AAV or lentiviruses is highly desirable
- Familiarity with statistical analysis for biological assays and automation is a plus
- Excellent laboratory, computer, documentation, and organization skills
- The ideal candidate is a fast learner with strong scientific curiosity, good interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
Additional responsibilities for Associate Scientist III: Candidate will be required to operate with a higher level of independence and act as an informal resource for more junior colleagues.
