Job Description
The Manager of Trade & Distribution position is part of the Market Access and Reimbursement Department within the US Commercial Organization.
The Trade & Distribution team has ownership of the Full Line Wholesalers and Specialty Distributor partners across the Biogen portfolio. This includes contract execution, account management, inventory oversight, and overall trade analytics.
Primary responsibilities of the Manager of Trade & Distribution include new customer onboarding for title model product(s), monitoring and triaging customer inquiries, Purchase Order processing, Promotional Review Committee coordination, overseeing product returns across the Biogen portfolio and managing the returns vendor.
The role will offer the incumbent the opportunity to learn key practices and policies of successful distribution models. The role will also allow the incumbent to work closely with our access and reimbursement team(s). The Manager of Trade & Distribution will have the opportunity to work with key functional partners in the US Commercial organization as well as the Supply Chain team.
Principal accountabilities to include:
Responsible for onboarding operations/processes for new customers, including review and determination of discount eligibility, accurate pricing, and class of trade. Quality check the quarterly calculations.
Monitors Distribution Operations inbox and triages appropriately to T&D Team members.
Primary point of contact for title partner(s), Access and Reimbursement team(s), and Patient Services distribution support functions as it relates to new account onboarding and product access.
Provide operational support to Trade & Distribution team. Tasks may include Purchase Order processing, Promotional Review Committee (PRC) coordination and submission, Clinical Research requests, and various other initiatives.
Supports Returns Process; review and approval of returns exceptions/escalations and coordinates processing with Accounting and Trade Account Managers, as needed. Manages returns vendor
Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant experience preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Effective decision making and problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team structure are required.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet goals and objectives in a deadline intensive environment.
- Capable of following a project through completion with minimal direction and strong personal initiative and serving as backup to fellow team members in the department.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and productively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Industry knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech business standards and regulations is required.
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech industry trade & distribution, supply chain management, sales order, returns, and chargebacks processes is desired, but not required.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel and PowerPoint) is required.
- Experience creating, reviewing and analyzing data in multiple formats to make operational decisions and streamline communication.
- Vendor management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, engineering or related fields.
