Job Description

This is for a 6-month position from July - December 2021.

Biogen is seeking a highly motivated co-op to join the Biophysical and Particle Characterization Key Expert Group (BPC KEG). The BPC KEG is a cross-functional team of subject-matter experts in high order structure and particle characterization that are driven to improve the understanding of Biogen’s therapeutic drug products. The candidate will have an opportunity to work with the team and advance Biogen’s global particle characterization strategy through participation in the subvisible particle knowledge management initiative. The successful candidate will be part of a fast-paced and innovative environment. The co-op can be performed remotely if necessary.

Position Description

Biogen discovers, develops, and delivers worldwide innovative therapies for people living with serious neurological and neurodegenerative diseases. We work together to bring life-changing therapies to patients every day.

The co-op will be responsible for building a database of historical subvisible particle data, trending and analyzing the data, and performing literature searches to improve Biogen’s global particle characterization strategy. They will work directly with members of the BPC KEG. The co-op will have the opportunity to be exposed to the drug product development and analytical development processes, as well as relevant challenges within the biopharmaceutical landscape.

Qualifications

To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Grade point average of 3.2 or higher preferred
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

The ideal candidate should have an interest in learning and the flexibility to work remotely if needed. Good organizational and communication skills are required. Some prior laboratory experience is preferred.

Education

Senior undergraduate or first year graduate study enrolled in an accredited university with an engineering / science discipline.
