  • Department: Interns & Co-ops

Job Description

This is for a 6-month position from July - December 2021.

The Antibody Discovery and Engineering Group interacts with multidisciplinary project teams focused on developing therapies for neurology, neuroimmunology, chronic pain, and rare diseases. The group supports early stage drug development projects primarily in 2 ways, by discovering potential therapeutic candidates, and by generating tool antibodies for various in vitro assays used for the characterization of potential drug candidates. The methods used within the group for antibody discovery include antibody display technologies, antibody engineering, and in vivo antibody generation.

Position Description:

We are looking for a Co-op/intern to join our Antibody Discovery team for 6 months. The primary responsibility for this position will be to become proficient in our rabbit monoclonal antibody generation platform. This will require the candidate to develop a diverse skill set in mammalian cell culture, in vitro characterization assays like ELISA & FACS, and routine molecular biology procedures. The expectation is that the candidate will become a productive member of our group. We work collaboratively with a wide range of research teams and are focused on innovative approaches in drug discovery to treat neurodegenerative disease

Qualifications

To participate in the Biogen Intern or Co-op Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
