Biogen Healthcare Solutions (BHS) is an innovation unit of Biogen dedicated to pioneering NeuroTech to improve care for people living with neurological diseases. We develop digital health solutions for patients and HCPs in neuroscience at a global scale. BHS is investing in Open Innovation in order to collaborate with external partners in the tech and digital field to pioneer NeuroTech. To develop the growth of our newly formed NeuroTech Open Innovation Global team, we are  looking for an outstanding professional to join our world-class NeuroTech team as we are expanding into Open Innovation and new strategic domains (healthtech, medical, digital biomarkers, AI, and more) focused on delivering value to our customers in Neurosciences at global scale. We are looking for an exceptional individual that will be primarily responsible for leading startups and other partners (academic, tech, etc.) collaborations, from validation, deal closing and integration management to accelerate Biogen leadership in NeuroTech.

We want to go from having a limited range of innovation to being able to test out lots of new ideas while simultaneously growing the main business. The ideal candidate will provide role-model leadership by enhancing Biogen’s external ecosystem innovation & internal digital capability. Meanwhile launch Biogen’s innovation summit & series of digital capability campaigns to inspire & boost digital capabilities, as well as identify solutions for unmet needs from key stakeholders and align landing solutions.

The position can be based in any European country

Principal Accountabilities

•      Leading and overlooking engagement with start-up ecosystems and innovators, thereby making solutions bold, sustainable and scalable.
•     Ensure that each innovation lab has a clear strategy that’s aligned with the company’s
•     Creating clear goals for the lab to help both start-ups and company leaders understand the direction and purpose of innovation initiatives.
•     Define how will the lab will support the start-ups who are innovating and bringing forward new ideas and executing them in unchartered territory
•     Establish our positioning, identify target audiences, and develop plans with specific objectives across different engagement channels to
•     Lead the execution of programs from start to finish, including, but not limited to, events, marketing assets, internal engagement, media and public relations initiatives by leveraging internal support and driving collaboration
•     Define and monitor success/ impact metrics for all innovation labs
•  Work alongside our local lab leaders and teams to roll out global and local communications
•     Promote best practice sharing environment leveraging our partners and incubators/ accelerators
•     Work in partnership with the creative team, develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for our communications, including social media opportunities, events and PR
•    Present ideas and final deliverables to internal and external teams, and communicate with leaders about marketing programs, strategies, and budgets

●         Masters or MBA

●         Minimum of 10 years of business development experience in the life sciences, medical device, and/or pharmaceutical industries, strategy consultancy; venture capital or general management of digital health company

●         Experience in Global innovation roles leading by influence

●         Demonstrable expert in field of digital healthcare solutions;

●         Demonstrable expert in open innovation strategies and strategic partnerships;

●         Program and project management expertise;

●         Excellent people management skills with positive leadership, innovative, and collaborative behaviors & strong “can-do” orientation.
