Job Description

As a trusted HR Business Partner, this role will lead HR activity across the MART (Middle East, Africa, Russia, Turkey) Region, with accountability for HR related activity in the new affiliates e.g. in Dubai as well as regional roles. The role will support professionals that include (but not limited to) commercial field teams, market access professionals, finance, legal & compliance, and IT professionals. In this role, s/he will be responsible for the development and execution of HR strategies and activities that drive rapid organizational growth, team effectiveness, and team engagement. The HR Leader will work in areas such as recruitment, employee relations, team building, performance management, compensation, and career growth and development. The person in this role must have strong cross collaboration skills and must be able to work effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization.

This role will report directly into the HR Business Leader for the Biogen Intercontinental Region. This role will support employees in four locations and lead HR activities across the region, in partnership with various HR COEs and will have a direct report leading HR in Saudi Arabia

Key accountabilities for this position are:

·        Opening new affiliates 

·        Closely partnering with the MART Leadership team on setting a people strategy for the region (moving from partner markets to full affiliates)

·        Providing direction and coaching for people managers on a variety of employee issues including: performance management, talent acquisition, compensation planning, and employee relations

·        Supporting coaching and development initiatives for team members through the identification of development opportunities and capability gaps

·        Helping lead the execution of core HR processes (i.e. objective setting, mid-year conversations, year-end calibrations, succession planning etc.)

·        Delivering training programs and new employee orientation using enterprise developed programs

·        Supporting the promotion process, investigations, and leave of absence programs

·        Ensuring appropriate adherence to local labor laws and compliance related reporting

·        Overseeing the administration of payroll and benefits within the region

Partnering with the HR COEs to deliver best practice solutions in a consistent manner


- 12+ years of HR Business Partner / Generalist experience in a progressive HR function/organization

--Experience working in the middle east, and knowledge of local labor laws
-- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
- Strong business acumen

- People Management experience strongly preferred

Education :

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, HR management, or a related field, Master’s degree preferred
