Job Description

We are looking for the Sales Lead Alzheimers Disease (m/w/d) in Germany 

Development and implementation of the local sales strategy and structure

  • Drives process to define future SF structure to best serve the AD launch but also long term goals. This can include innovative approaches like different SF for different target groups, possibility of temporary rented SF, ‘virtual’ SF or other options whichever fits the market approach best
  • Drives hiring process of A-team players on all sales level
  • Develops strategies to assess the market
  • Responsible for the sales strategy during pre-launch, launch and post launch in close x-functional collaboration

Achieving regional & national sales goals

  • Manages and supervises the AD sales force through the district managers and drives performance.  
  • Develops national sales strategies and goals and assures strong execution
  • Supports district managers in the development of goals and strategies for each district, strengthens leadership and coaching capabilities of DMs
  • Responsible for an effective and on-track use of assigned sales budget
  • Defines and tracks all relevant Sales KPIs
  • Sets up bonus plan goals and sales incentive goals in alignment with national goals and strategy 
  • Responsible for planning and execution of sales meetings

Developing staff and assembling effective teams

  • Leverages team members’ strengths and identifies areas for development of individuals
  • Provides coaching, feedback and advice that is separate from tactical support
  • Ensures that each ABM, DM or other sales functions have an active development plan
  • Prepares and presents effective performance reviews based on clearly defined performance standards
  • Closely tracks implementation of goals and drives performances in the regions and territories across Germany

Aligning btw. different local and international functions for commercial success

  • As part of the German AD leadership team, develops national strategies with key functions
  • Works closely and effectively with core functions such as Marketing, Market Access and Medical for joint deliveries
  • Leads assigned sales driven or cross-functional projects that aim at the success of the retail field force 
  • Contributes expert understanding of competitive landscape to help shape future direction
  • Provides sales and market input to cross functional teams to support shaping of brand and portfolio strategies and execution
  • Pro-active member of sales relevant international working groups to represent the voice of German sales

Organizational

  • Ensure compliance with Biogen regulations, SOPs, local laws and code of business conduct
  • Set up aligned training concepts and ensure internal trainings 
  • Responsible for the development of innovative concepts to adapt sales model to changing market environment

Qualifications

  • Min. 8-10 years of pharmaceutical/health care sales / commercial experience
  • Min. 3-5 years proven sales leadership experience in the German market is mandatory, preferably on national level
  • Neurology experience desirable
  • Proven and sustained track record of reaching and exceeding sales goals
  • Proven track record of international influencing and exposure in former roles

Education

  • University degree or MBA preferred
  • Fluent in German (ideally native speaker)
  • Proficiency in English required

Additional Information

 

The Sales Lead Germany provides leadership and direction to the retail sales force AD. This role is part of the German AD leadership team and will include the development of the local sales structure and customer mapping strategy, the development of national sales strategies in close collaboration with the District Managers and key functions. The effective tracking of defined KPIs and the team´s performance as well as continual capabilities building will be integral to the future success of the Business Unit. In this constantly evolving arena, the Associate Director Sales will be tasked to maintain a dynamic working culture which continually motivates and coaches individuals to perform to the best of their ability and strengthen competencies of the AD sales team as a whole.
