Job Description

The Associate Director, Global Pricing and Reimbursement will support the development of Biogen’s global pricing and reimbursement strategy for the Alzheimer's disease product, potentially the first biologic therapy in Alzheimer’s Disease. The person will be responsible for providing strategic vision, tactical expertise and support for Biogen’s Alzheimer’s disease portfolio including, e.g. reimbursement submissions, negotiation strategies, reimbursement of the diagnostic pathway, innovative access schemes, development of value materials, communications and tools as well as engagement with a variety of external stakeholders.  The Associate Director will report to the Senior Director, Alzheimer’s Disease in Biogen’s Value and Access Department

1. Strategic Expertise
• Support development of global pricing and reimbursement strategy including development of pricing policy, market access plan

• Engage with regional (US, EU, APAC, LATAM) counterparts to ensure alignment of global policies across regions
• Provide direction to the Global Value and Access team on key priorities for in-market preparation for successful P&R process
• Partner with cross-functional members (commercial, medical, digital, CMI, etc.) ensuring development of commercialization strategic imperatives and operational plan

• Drive and coordinate the strategic direction of regional and national-level policy activities to positively shape the environment for Biogen brands (in collaboration with Public Affairs and Government Affairs)

2. Market Access Execution and Planning
• Act as a core member of the Alzheimer's Global Value and Access team
• Support national pricing and market access implementation for Alzheimer’s – ensure strategies proactively anticipate changes in the competitive environment, healthcare systems, or policies
• Ensure the country market access needs are aligned and integrated into corporate annual planning process

3. Innovation in Market Access
• Provide necessary training for regional and affiliate counterparts on market access material and relevant capabilities
• Drive a culture of excellence, shared accountability and collaboration within EU+, Value and Access and Affiliates within Biogen via sharing and dissemination of key learnings and best practices

• Develops and delivers market access tools to be used by affiliates to secure pricing, reimbursement and access for current and future Alzheimer’s products

 

 

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in relevant market access, reimbursement and public affairs within the biopharmaceuticals industry (part of experience may include time in relevant consulting, HTA agency and/or direct payer experience)
• Prior experience in neurological diseases.

• Launch experience is highly beneficial
• Strong technical understanding of pricing, reimbursement, access with demonstrated track record
• Prior experience in market access, health economics, pricing, public affairs, government affairs
• Sound knowledge of local health care systems and pricing and reimbursement requirements
• Strong project management skills
• Demonstrable experience in managing multiple cross-functional projects and external vendors

 Education:

• Higher level degree MBA, MPA, MPH and/or post-graduate education in health economics
