The candidate will be responsible for identifying the optimal conditions for this class of reactions, expanding the substrate scope, and collecting publishable analytical data for the final products. The candidate will be trained and supported by a team of experienced synthetic chemists to maximize the achievement of this learning process and possibly complete the internship with a scientific publication in hand.

The candidate is expected to dedicate most of the time in an industrial research lab setting. They will be performing various organic reactions under proper guidance and analyzing reaction outcomes with cutting edge lab equipment, such as, NMR, LC-MS, various column chromatography techniques, etc. The candidate will also be responsible for keeping scientific lab records and summarizing results in PowerPoint presentations to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capable of performing organic reactions in a safe and responsible manner
  • Contribute to the development of novel chemical transformations
  • Collect analytical data rigorously and keep a meticulous lab record
  • Summarize scientific results using PowerPoint and give clear presentations to supervisor and other team members
