Job Description

He/she is responsible for the production statistical specifications including but not limited to: analysis datasets, tables, listings, figures; simulations, statistical modeling, integration of biomarker analyses with interpretation, and contribution to abstracts and papers. He/She partners with Biostatistics and other functions (Translational Medicine, Value Based Medicine, Real World Evidence, etc.) to deliver high quality deliverables.

He/She is responsible for serving as a liaison with internal and external data partners, monitoring and meeting agreed upon project(s) milestones, escalating issues as appropriate and estimating resources needs. He/She leads team of statistical/analytical programmers (biometricians) to accomplish tasks and collaborates with clinicians in various functions and biostatisticians as needed.

He/She has diverse problem solving skill and is comfortable representing the analytical programming perspective to the Project Team and is often the sole functional representative.

The Sr Analyst III, Specialty Programming helps to implement the statistical design strategy for projects, provides input to Biostatisticians on the strategic direction of analytical projects, partners with experts across departments to ensure proper statistical methods and modeling are implemented. He/She collaborates with other functions (DAI, IT) for the implementation and acquisition of tools.

Accountabilities:
1. Leads, coordinates and manages timely creation, oversight, review, completion, and delivery of analysis activities and deliverables of projects
2. Considered an analytical programming/counseling expert within the department. Authors statistical specifications and output presentations including the identification of potential data issues or areas of critical data examination. Works with statistics and clinicians on defining and documenting analytical endpoint algorithms across a project and/or contributing to TA level algorithms
3. Manage the end-to-end analytics of deliverables from data curation through final presentation of deliverable which may include preparation for abstracts and manuscripts
4. Serves as the analytical l Programming (Biometrician) Lead to achieve milestones for program; evaluates task objectives, collaborates with internal/external partners and/or manager on issues or resource needs
5. Verifies program consistency and usage of data, analysis across the department in conjunction with consultation on the statistical strategy plan
6. Informs internal and external project team members of analytical programming requirements, deliverable status, and resource needs

Qualifications

• BA/BS with 12+ years or MS/PhD with 8+ years relevant work experience within an organization with a focus on statistical analysis and interpretation of data
• 8+ years programming in various languages (R, SAS, SPSS, etc.)
• 8+ years relevant industry experience 5+ years clinical trial experience
• 3+ years clinical database experience
• Extensive knowledge of statistical methods
• Extensive knowledge of mathematical modeling
• Familiarity with UNIX
• Knowledge of software development packages (R, Imaging and Genomics software packages)
• Strong project management and problem solving skills, and ability to effectively lead and collaborate with all functions
• High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
• Ability to understand and decipher scientific paper results for the application to current analysis

Education :

Bachelor’s degree required, Masters or PhD in Statistics or Mathematics or other scientific field preferred

Additional Information

The Sr Analyst III, Specialty Programming leads and oversees analytical programming activities pertaining to biomarker data, real world data, clinical data, genomic data and other types of data analysis outside the typical analysis required for a clinical study report.
