This internship role is part of the Limitless @ Biogen program; the summer co-op for neurodiverse college students. ‘Neurodiversity’ includes neurological differences such as autism spectrum, ADHD and dyslexia. Limitless @ Biogen provides support for managers and interns throughout the 6-month co-op.

Job Description

This application is for a 6-month student role from July - December 2024. Resume review begins in February 2024.

This role is within the Asset Development and Portfolio Management (ADPM) team within Biogen’s Pharmaceutical Operations and Technology organization. This is a team of ~30 that is comprised of project leaders and program managers for manufacturing and associated technologies associated with supplying products to patients.  A successful candidate will learn about the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries, with focus on product development and manufacturing.

Position Description

As a co-op, you will work with the team to further the standardize information systems organizing ADPM work processes across the product modalities (biologics, small molecule, gene therapy, antisense oligonucleotides).

Some other tasks include:

  • Review, develop, and improve on existing program management templates in MS Excel and MS Project.  Extract data from enterprise systems to analyze historical programs to validate current assumptions.
  • Directed by a supervisor and working collaboratively as a member of the ADPM team, and possibly engaging with other functions as needed for the work.

Qualifications

  • Studying for a bachelor’s degree or advanced university degree in technical field and stated desire to learn technologies in pharmaceutical development and manufacturing.
  • (Key words:  Cell culture, Fermentation, Synthesis, Purification, Monoclonal antibody, Antisense oligonucleotide, AAV gene therapy)  
  • Technical knowledge of basic software applications (e.g. MS Excel, MS Project, SharePoint) and ability to learn others (e.g. Oracle EBS, Planisware).

To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Graduating no earlier than Setpember 2024

Education

Studying for BA/BS or advanced degree in technical field (Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Data Sciences or similar).
