We’re on the lookout for a talented Mid-Level Backend Engineer to join our team. As a key contributor, you’ll bring a strong foundation in C# and Azure, along with a curious mindset and analytical problem-solving skills. You should be comfortable designing, developing, and optimising backend systems, working both independently and collaboratively to build scalable APIs, cloud-based solutions, and infrastructure layers. Your work will play a crucial role in driving business and client success. The ideal candidate will have solid experience with Azure services and proficiency in C#/.NET for backend development.

Key Responsibilities

• System Architecture: Design and implement scalable, secure backend architectures using C# and .NET, optimised for cloud-based platforms on Microsoft Azure.
• API Development: Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices that integrate with web and mobile applications, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Cloud Solutions: Leverage Azure services (e.g., Azure Functions, App Services, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB) to develop and maintain scalable, resilient infrastructure.
• DevOps & CI/CD: Contribute to automating deployments, optimising CI/CD pipelines, and managing infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or ARM templates.
• Technical Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues, optimise system performance, and ensure application security best practices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with frontend, mobile, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions, ensuring seamless integration between backend services and applications.
• Stakeholder Communication: Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to define project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within scope.

About You

• You have extensive experience in backend development, with proficiency in C# and .NET, and a strong understanding of best practices in software architecture and design.
• You have commercial experience with API Gateways and microservices architecture, as well as a deep understanding of RESTful API development and integration.
• You have 4+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure, with expertise in serverless architecture, Azure Functions, App Services, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB.
• You are experienced in containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes, and have worked with Azure DevOps for CI/CD automation.
• You have a solid understanding of cloud security, authentication, and authorisation, including OAuth, JWT, and Azure Active Directory (AAD).
• While you may not be an expert in everything, you have a broad technical foundation and a proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving industry trends.
• You thrive in Agile environments, enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, and have experience working with methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
